What kind of budget are you looking at and what kind of expandability do you need?

There’s a million ways to build a rig so there’s no “1 size fits all” option. You need to decide what your looking for. I can possibly help with the rest.

On my pool, it means: Debit = Withdraw to FTC address, ATP = Automatic Threshold Payout. So you have set an automatic payout threshold and once this is reached, the system sends out your entire balance on the site to your address set in your account details within 30 minutes of reaching that threshold amount.

I agree with you that solo mining has great advantages, my ETB is only 48 hours, and my luck has been good, the only downside to solo mining is waiting 120 confirms if your used to using a low confirm pool.

What sort of powersupply are you running with these? I have a 1250 w/ 4 of these Gigabyte 7950 and I’ve been able to tune them to almost 600 kh/s but I’m sucking the power supply dry. A bit more than I’d ever realized.

I think I’m going to have to put in a second power supply just to run all four. Right now I can only run 3 at full tilt before I start hitting the upper limit of the power supply. Not sure if I’ve done something wrong here though. I was considering dropping a 5th video card in my rig before I ran into this issue.

on hi end cards with hashrates about 700 kh and more - longpool makes much more stale shares, its restart miners only on new block when stratum is more flexible in two-way communication with workers, its broadcasted every block template changes, also can give to different users different nonce ranges so no one on pool will not do same work

That is what I did also, Your bare bones without GPU/PSU could in theory cost you next to nothing. You need to speed a few bucks on the PSU, amount and type of card will determine your needed wattage, be it 1000, 1200 or 1500watts.
The mostly cost bits are the GPU’s, 7950’s can be around £250, €300, $350, depending on brand, location etc. 7950’s are in my opinion best bang for buck.

Avoid XFX, even if they may will be the cheapest cards on offer.
