As value rises on the exchange then 133 will be more profitable. It’s really because value is around 0.001 at the moment which makes it close to LTC profitability.

RE: Scrypt Jane Research - Post Ideas Here
I’m also interested in the idea of a different algorithm. My concern I guess is how much of our hashing power is community based and how much is transient across coins. From my own perspective when I was switching coins I was mining a month or so ago I found myself avoiding going back to SHA256 ones just because it was easier to stick with my scrypt set up. I wonder how much we would lose and not recover.
But saying that maybe it’s not a problem if the approach is very much that we are building scrypt-jane from the ground up and are unconcerned that initial hash will take a heavy hit when changed. A good opportunity could be missed by not taking the risk with a new algo.

RE: How many feathercoins have been premined?
Feathercoin had to start with a difficulty of 0. Just as LTC did as well. The fact is that many many times more people were mining and knew about crypto currencies than when LTC launched. Sure the big miners will clean up in this situation and take a lot of the initial coins. It’s not a pre-mine, it’s a fact of life. Live with it and carry on either advancing crypto currencies or trading for profit (whatever your motivation is). But seriously, listening to the trolls and the negative people at BTC-e helps no currencies at all it just drags us all down.

RE: Block countdown
Seem to be in quite a good place with hashrate and profitability now. Hanging around in positive percentages and readjust not too far away.

RE: Are the attackers on again?
Gulp! BTC-e down now… Either I’m seeing paranoia everywhere or they are making a push for delisting

RE: Are the attackers on again?
Especially as profitability will have dropped below LTC now. Fingers crossed they run out of financing for their venture soon.

RE: Are the attackers on again?
True but instant addition of 2.5mh the moment the difficulty changed is suspicious. Let’s hope we stay above 5mh total

Are the attackers on again?
Hash rate just jumped by an additional 2.5mh again at difficulty change

RE: Difficulty just went ... DOWN?!?!
perhaps a screwy side effect of the 51%. Find out in 6 hours time.

26 more confirms on fcpool and then we will see whether the last run of blocks are valid.

I got a payout. Not much but something. Not enough to send to a wallet. The net hashrate looks like it’s correcting to the feathercoin site.
[/quote]Yes seems they have gone to the new chain now at fcpool. Question is whether these blocks that looked like they were on the old chain were or not. I don’t know the technical ins and outs of it but is it possible that the attacker already mined these blocks on the new fork and is waiting to sync them and replace these blocks?
