if you’re solo mining then you dont use stratum+tcp unless you are running a separate stratum server along side your client

I dont know why you’re using 14022 as the default FTC ports are 9336 and 9337

@grimreaperminer Those kernels of v0.9.2 and v0.9.4 are interface compatible. There will be more changes in the next release breaking interchangeability, but improving performance and compatibility with the current AMD drivers hopefully.

@offtherecord 9800GT is one of the first cards with the CUDA support, compute capability 1.1. Most NVIDIA only miners require compute capability 3.0 at least, preferably 5.0. So, NSGminer is your best bet. It works at least.

The new version works well with the 0.9.x versions of the wallet, so there is no urgend need to upgrade now.

Nevertheless there will enhancements to the wallets/clients in the near future, which require the majority of wallets to be on 0.13.

We will announce the full and official release of 0.13 here and on the social media, so everybody can upgrade at a convenient time.

This really is just a mater of how lucky the mining rigs are. :-)

if you solve 39 blocks at a pool or 39 blocks solo, you will obviously get more as a solo miner because you dont need to split the reward with anyone.

one of the benefits of mining at a pool is that you are somewhat protected if the difficulty shoots up a lot, where as a solo miner you’re still on your own localised hashrate…if you factor “luck” the same solo miner with the same hashrate could be incredibly lucky and mine the same or more blocks than a pool even if the difficulty was higher…it’s very very unlikely but it’s not impossible…and if you looked over a 1 month period then it would still look like it’s profitable to solo mine.

I might try it sometime with a dual xeon/intelHD server I have and the 1030 out of my kid’s gamebox. I doubt we can get the fan+o/c controls to show up since I believe the settings cli and control panel rely on having the nvidia kernel mod loaded for that.

I did try other version of ccminers and ccminer-ghostlander is doing incredible ~735 kH/s :) Other miners are around 600 kH/s, so there is no doubt in my mind which one to use :) Now i just have to decide weather to stay and mine feathercoin or try some other coin which could potentially have higher growth…
By the way my I ask where did you get 1060 for such amazing price you mentioned in the other topic?

I got them from Amazon and Newegg. Last year they were readily available, though limited to two per purchase, so I bought two from each place, $215-220 each. These days, 1060’s are like hens teeth and cost a ridiculous amount (from suspicious vendors). I mean seriously — $550 for a 6160-KR?? :rofl: I ordered another Seasonic PSU to power my two trusty 970’s on the same rig; much better to keep using those than pay THAT kind of money for 1060’s.

1060’s were and still are the most efficient neoscrypt hash-per-watt option out there, especially when overclocked. Perhaps too many people read my ccminer topic… ;)

“Molex” is a company name, not a specific pin configuration. The single row 4-pin used for old-school IDE/SCSI hard drives is a molex design, as is the 2-row 3-wide 6-pin config used for 75W GPU connectors. Either one will have heavier gauge wires, usually 18AWG or lower, as opposed to 26AWG or worse used in those SATA plugs.

Given the same amperage, the amount of heat generated in a wire drops with increased thickness of the wire. Physics 101. The lower the gauge number, the thicker the wire. The 16 or 18 gauge wires used in 4 or 6 pin molex connectors will generate much less heat than the 26 gauge wires used in some SATA connectors, which have much lower current ratings.

IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU’RE DOING and have the proper measurement tools, you can check the current draw from your cards when fully utilized AND o/c set to max. If it’s below the current rating of your connector of choice then you’re ok to use it. Otherwise, best to err on the side of common sense and spend the few relative bucks and use the proper stuff, especially when you’re spending many hundreds of dollars per gpu. ;)

P2Pool has stratum, i.e. you build up to the maximum reputation by accumulating shares.

When you stopped mining you would have shares outstanding, so you can still get a share of the next block found.

Thanks for the welcome message and the feedback! I’ve been reading more and experimenting more.
I’m 50% to my goal of ~40MH/s or so. Its proven hard to order so many graphics cards, I have to get a volume account setup for my business - so I have been ordering them in small groups.

I currently have three Windows 10 PCs running. This took some effort to get it all running and stable, but it appears like its running well now.
My current configuration is

Windows 10 64-bit on an Asus 19-card mining expert board.
Running 11 cards 5x1070 2x1060 4x1080 hashing right about 10MH/s

Windows 10 64-bit on an Asus H270 Plus board
Running 8 cards 3x1060 1x1070 4x1080 hashing about 6.7MH/s

Windows 10 64-bit on an old HP board
running 3 cards 3x1070 with some experimental modifications … hashing at 3.3MH/s

Currently this puts me right around 20MH/s which is starting to make a good number of coins per day. I am experimenting with some of the profit switching algorithms and direct mining as well as some custom software/scripts that I am developing for mining as well.

I’m hoping I get “most” of my ROI back in about 4 months … we will see!

I didn’t use ccminer for a longer time now, but check the output of

‘ccminer - -help’

I think you can specify the id number(s) of the GPU to use.

It you define GPU0 for one coin and GPU1 for another one it should be possible
