Good news!
And what about an european resident living in japan and paying with a japanese card??Sorry, the card needs to be enrolled in the 3D Secure scheme, which I believe is just for European cards.
-
Mmm… I was expecting something like that
Well… will see if I can still get an italian card

Bittylicious has become irrelevant to Feathercoin the moment they included a number of copycat coins in there. At the moment, they do not sell the idea of Feathercoin being special, which it is, but the idea of it being equal to a myriad of crapcoins.
-
Thanks for that, panoramix. So the fact that there are other coins on there means somehow that Bittylicious has no more relevance to Feathercoin? I fail to understand your reasoning.
I’m glad that the rest of the community knows that forming good relationships, like the relationship between Feathercoin and Bittylicious, is a good thing and key to growing a prosperous coin like Feathercoin.
-
Its a market supply and demand I think the fact FTC is on bittylicious is fantastic both for the sellers , the buyers and the coin as a whole.
I heard you on radio 4 the other day. It was a great interview and I noticed you gave Feathercoin a special mention thanks for that. I think there are some worried people who are lashing out and your getting a little bit of the backlash. Please don’t take it personally I’m sure most know how important bittylicious is for the coin and crypto as a whole in the UK.
-
I’m glad someone realised that I mentioned Feathercoin (and this was obviously entirely intended - Bittylicious accepts a fair few coins but Feathercoin is great, and “local”).
It’s a shame that people like panoramix seem to want to burn their bridges. Of course I won’t let it get to me, but some other partners might not be so understanding.
-
Marc, without a doubt we are grateful with what you offer for feathercoin.
What Kris_Davison has said in his post he echoes how Bush and I feel and I’m sure many other members of Feathercoin Community too :)
-
An exchange or exchange platform can’t become irrelevant to a coin due to the fact it trades other coins also.
I think it is important that Feathercoins are traded on a Bittylicious and hope they keep the support they give to feathercoin.
-
Useless little anecdote, Bittylicious, was the reason I found feathercoin, I noticed FTC was available, did some research, bought some and then joined the forum.
-
Bittylicious have become irrelevant when it put Feathercoin at the same level as things like Blackcoin.
-
panoramix, grow up. You’ve run out of things to say, so don’t repeat yourself as it just adds noise. Go to reddit if you want to troll.
-
I am very happy with Bittylicious as altcoin we are on same level as Blackcoin. I don’t see nothing wrong with this…
-
panoramix please stop bashing on Bittylicious there really is no need for the hostility.
Its a good thing that Bittylicious offers services to alt coins and not just bitcoin as there are so many services that don’t even recognise alts, at least with Bittylicious we have a good chance of being in more hands and thats a good thing.
-
I also don’t have anything against being on Bittylicious. It’s better than NOT being there at all, isn’t it? And I sincerely hope that FTC has some decent trading volume there…
Do not misunderstand me. I agree with all of these propositions. It is better to be on Bittylicious than not. But I hope that you will agree that there is not enough space for all alts to succeed. Maybe just a few, and maybe none at all will succeed, not even Litecoin. This is because as Bitcoin capitalization grows, its price oscillations decrease, making it practical for goods exchange. But for alts, opposite is true. As their number grows, they compete for the same pool of sufficiently brave investors, and each one becomes more and more prone to oscillation. In this way, all alts as a group are marginalized into the territory of gambling nad Bitcoin dominates the territory of real goods exchange.
Feathercoin came early and had a potential to be special. Today, when I try to tell people about Feathercoin, they say: “But why Feathercoin? I do not understand what is so special about Feathercoin when there are so many different coins, such as Dogecoin.” For most people, Feathercoin today is just another dirty alt. I’m saying, do what it takes, and I mean what it takes, to keep the price rise stable, without spikes, and without slumps.
I am talking out of concern for Feathercoin survival. The initial credit for alts as “something new” is almost gone. Feathercoin team has virtue, but a large number of alts mimic virtue, and ordinary users have almost no chance to distinguish among them. I am afraid that price stabilization is the last chance for Feathercoin to make a public statement of being special. Having Bushstar as BDFL is strong, but, imo, more has to be done to make Feathercoin number one. If I had enough coins or money to act as a stabilizer myself, I wouldn’t have to open my mouth here. Those confident that my worries are groundless, kindly forgive my talking.

Bittylicious, please keep the sterile cockpit rule =). I am satisfied that I have been heard. But I still repeat myself occassionally until the attention of the crew is focused on the main problem, or until someone explains to me that my worries are groundless.

I don’t thnik your worries are groundless… I do, however, see as pointless this opposition to Bittylicious. In a world where everything is about hype and thousands of “2 da moon” spam messages on bitcointalk, what do you expect?? It is important to be there and it is important to be different from the other crapcoins, you’re right but still… you cannot shut the door on the face of any other alt “a priori”. FTC was a copy coin back in the days. Today’s coin are based on hype and memes… and as long as the alt market will keep this direction, fluidity is what matters: a coin falls? Deem it dead and move on, and on and on… those who build a sufficient userbase will win the right to sit in the same place as FTC. Don’t you think? The real problem is that alt coins are stealing each other users! The miners/investors/users numbers are not rising sufficiently fast. That’s the problem IMHO.
And I know what you mean with “concern for FTC survival”… me too, but let’s see what happens with the algo switch.

I do not oppose Bittylicious. I just say most of its relevance to Feathercoin is now gone. Sorry for expressing my opinion with brutal honesty.
You have expressed it yourself: Alts do compete. Equality among coins is of the same kind as that among sports competitors. In theory, they are created equal, but some win, and some lose. And there are no judges to enforce rules and fair play here. So crypto landscape is more like pro wrestling, or, more precisely, Mortal Kombat. The players may (or may not) pretend cool and polite in the corridors, but on the stage, their main concern is to make their opponent lose. Again, sorry for honesty.
Let me clarify that I am not saying we should hate other alts. Some Mortal Kombat players are nice. To be completely precise, the reason why I support Feathercoin is because I hope that its team can be nice. But that’s exactly why I have to warn about the nature of the environment we are in. Let me explain.
Unlike other fields of software development, computational finance attracts people who consider their strong suit to be their ability to psychologically manipulate and exploit others. Scammers, mimics, people without conscience, people who sacrifice anything and everything for their personal gratification. These people otherwise do not have above-average performance, but are naturally born with Mortal Kombat mindset, they have no need for me to explain it to them. These people are not moved when their opponent is nice to them. They consider it his or her weakness. Psychology studies show that prevalence of this personality type is about 1% to 4% in general population, but eg. for Wall Street, psychologists estimate that there is up to 10 times higher prevalence of the said personality type there. I am concerned that alternative cryptographic currencies also attract this personality type in above-average concentrations.
My target audience here are thus the nice people in Feathercoin community, whom I intend to warn about the qualities of the environment they are in. Some coins do deserve varying degrees of love, and it does not serve well one’s reputation to say that we hate this or that coin. But nevertheless, many coins were created by the above mentioned scammer personas for the single purpose of enriching self and deserve to be opposed. We should not say we hate them, but also should not fall in a guilt trap when there is need to oppose them. The only way for the nice people in Feathercoin community to ensure that the coin they support is nice is to invest 100% of their support in their own coin. Again, sorry for honesty.
Finally, algorithm switch will bring very little in terms of popularity. I would almost say that compared to the need for price stabilization, algorithm change is a distraction with respect to popularity. Again, sorry for saying what I think.

Now that you argumented your point properly, it does sound way more polite: direct and spot on. ;)
-
Thanks for that, panoramix. You are now upgraded from troll to regular human being.
It sounds like your argument isn’t actually directed at Bittylicious at all, so I would say that it’s not really suitable for this thread. It would have been better to start a new thread with your concerns about Feathercoin and its place in the altcoin world. I suggest you still do this, even if there is duplicate content, as people won’t be looking for this information in a Bittylicious announcement thread.

It’s a bit misplaced here, I admit.
