This looks very encouraging. And I am very grateful to you for coming here and showing us your hard work. How much time have you put in already and is there any work left to do to make it market ready? Also BTCe have said they will be introducing GBP soon, they also include EUR/BTC will it work for merchants in UK and EU too?
Hi Chris,
Basically yes. It can and will support as many currencies as possible. As of now, i still have to use a third party service (coinpayments.net) which charges a 3% fee. Basically, i use their service to receive coins from customers, after the coins are sent, i will receive an IPN which triggers my scripts to make the required trades to convert FTC to USD(I currently have a “float” of FTC so i can instantly convert it to USD before exchange rates change during transaction confirmation), i will then manually check my account and make the relevant transfers to merchants at the end of the day. This setup is really too basic to compete with any payment processor at the moment. I would really like to bypass any third parties so merchants get the best rates. Also, i believe that a user-based site with online wallets is the “best bet”, as instant transactions* are possible which will encourage brick and mortar merchants to use our service. But as we all know, a website like that even in its simplest form (which is what i am striving for at the moment) will require time and money for reasons which i have mentioned above, as well as server costs etc.
I am currently a full-time student, so i do have the time, but lack the financial capital to fully fund this project. I hope other like minded individuals can help me kickstart this project. Would listing the project on cryptostocks be a good idea? The “worldcoin schramback project” has raised more than 250btc without even having a working prototype (and basically the site that i am proposing will make schramback totally obsolete). If i can raise half of what they raised, a huge battle would be won.
So what do you think Chris? work on the current “no sgin-up, no login” website or shall i dream big?

That’s great news! I’m sure it’ll take off and it will definitely be a great contribution to Feathercoin’s image. Wish you look in getting it cleaned in polished to what you hope it to be. Sent you a few FTC… it’s not much but hopefully it will help :)
Thanks a lot for your support!

Ill definitely support once i mine up some more coin! If you make a coinbase like account it could be HUGE! Im salivating from the idea of a linked bank account (coinbase) to feathercoin.

This is great work :) Can you meet me on Skype?

Pretty soon crypto will be established and people will kick themselves they didn’t get involved. Such a project as Altcoinbase is a lot of work to succeed, it will need determination and a long term perspective.
Sounds a very worth while idea and plan, Good luck.
Hi bushstar,
thanks for noticing my post! Im actually surprised nobody wrote a simple script like that sooner! I dont have skype, i suggest that you add a feathercoin trollbox on the forum, it will be good for the website’s activity ;D we can chat there ;D -
There is a feathercoin trollbox… look on the top nav bar. :D
And actually, when it was on the main page it killed the sites activity as no-one posted in the forums any more. :'(

Perhaps we should stick to asynchronous communications.
What your service needs to be is legitimate, legal and secure. Large bounties were put forward by members of the community for this purpose some time ago one member of which is no longer with us. He did not die, just moved on to other communities.
I am still happy to stand by my bounty though I must admit I had forgotten that Justabit put this out there. He did like to run around and start these things off and it is a big ask so deserves a decent bounty if done right.
Your system needs to be seen working and some effort has to be put into securing it. Currently it would seem that your service is on shared hosting which is not suitable in the hostile environment that we find ourselves in. I am happy to spend some of the bounty on infrastructure for your system. The idea of the bounties was to try and encourage services to get off the ground by providing some funding to get them started.
Hi Bushstar!
Sorry for the super late response! I was struggling to get a hold of cryptostock’s support team for the whole week. It is really a great honor to have the creator Feathercoin consider to award me the bounty, so i wanted to finalize certain issues regarding crowd funding and listing before i got back to you. However, the bounty alone will not be even close to sufficient to attain the type of website that will bring FTC to the next level.
I would like to propose a counter-offer that you award my project only half of the 12,000ftc that you initially had planned for this purpose. The bounty will go entirely to paying for the 2btc fee of listing the project.
I also hope to have your support, with your influence to help promote this project and finally FINALLY make this dream a reality!
