Why should I use a Bulk Wallet to accept Feathercoins on my website?[/b]

The traditional approach to accepting Feathercoins on your website requires that you install the official Feathercoin client daemon (“Feathercoind”). Many website hosting packages don’t support installing the Feathercoin daemon. Also, running the Feathercoin daemon on your web server means your private keys are hosted on the server and could get stolen if your web server is hacked. When using a Bulk Wallet you can upload only the Feathercoin addresses and not the private keys to your web server. Then you don’t have to worry about your Feathercoin wallet being stolen if your web server is hacked.

How do I use a Bulk Wallet to accept Feathercoins on my website?[/b]

Use the Bulk Wallet tab to pre-generate a large number of Feathercoin addresses (10,000+). Copy and paste the generated comma separated values (CSV) list to a secure text file on your computer. Backup the file you just created to a secure location.
Import the Feathercoin addresses into a database table on your web server. (Don’t put the wallet/private keys on your web server, otherwise you risk hackers stealing your coins. Just the Feathercoin addresses as they will be shown to customers.)
Provide an option on your website’s shopping cart for your customer to pay in Feathercoin. When the customer chooses to pay in Feathercoin you will then display one of the addresses from your database to the customer as his “payment address” and save it with his shopping cart order.

You now need to be notified when the payment arrives. To manually check if a payment has arrived you can use Block Explorer. Replace THEADDRESSGOESHERE with the Feathercoin address you are checking. It could take between 10 minutes to one hour for the transaction to be confirmed.

You should see the transaction there within 30 seconds.
Feathercoins will safely pile up on the block chain. Use the original wallet file you generated in step 1 to spend them.

I will reply to him in the Suggestions thread explaining that, while we want to drive Feathercoin adoption by merchants, we do not want to become a storefront for any one merchant. He is welcome to promote his store but expecting an entire set of subfora for him to advertise his wares is a bit much IMHO. Anybody care to disagree before I reply to his thread?

To go a little further, I think the Code of Conduct needs to be revised a little to take into account the increased traffic and number of users on the site, but I’ll open a separate thread for that.

EDIT: I may have misread, seems he wants categories added to the Marketplace rather than to the Market forum, fair enough.

Thanks , one reported [i]no display[/i] of the customised logo from Tuck, I’m presuming it is a latency issue between our servers and his PC, so I will increase the timeout setting and get him to test this further. < He also suggested a link-back to the generator page from the downloadable image, which I will add when I next update.
