Is constantly forking to fight off ASICs worth it? (not saying we are, just a general thought) There are some advantages of ASICs on a network and it seems like eventually they will be developed for every algorithm.

That being said, I think this is likely a scam. Im sure @ChekaZ will confirm once he has more info.

As Acid said above, technically its possible to generate the same private key twice but the odds are so small its considered “impossible”. To add to that, you have the same odds using the QT wallet as you do a paper wallet generator.

The numbers crypto uses are huge, absolutely enormous. They are so large, in fact, that most people have difficulty understanding just how massive they are. One way I was explained was to picture a handful of sand. Look at each grain of sand. How many must there be in your hand? A lot right? Now picture a bucket of sand, picture a truck load, there are a LOT of grains, right? Now picture every grain of sand on EVERY beach in the world plus every grain of sand under all the oceans. If every grain of sand was its own Earth, with its own beaches and sand, then if you added up all these grains of sand on all these beaches on all these worlds… thats how many private keys there are. LOTS

I have no idea, what can cause the problem.
@Tobi97l is right, if you get a notification the wallet has seen the transaction and should show it in the overview page as well as in the transaction page.

I suggest that you go to http://explorer.feathercoin.com or https://fsight.chain.tips and enter you wallet address in the search pages there.
The explorer should come back with a list of transactions and the balance related to the wallet’s address.
If there are no transactions shown, you never received a payout.

Not sure for windows, but:

open a command window (cmd) type ‘netstat /help’ or ’ netstat --help’
not sure about the right syntax from the output locate the parameters to show listening ports only (in linux -l) (lowercase L) use numeric values ( in linux -n) show process information ( in linux -p) issue the netstat command again with the parameter you found out locate the line(s) with ‘127.0.0.1:9336’ identify the process listened at the end of the line open a process monitor window (strg-alt-del) and select process display right click on the process you found in the first step select stop process

If that doesn’t work for you I hope some windows guys can help.

@jimmy24651 NSGminer can do solo mining with the NVIDIA GPUs, though performance is lower than of those CUDA miners right now. It may change in the future if it gets a separate NVIDIA OpenCL kernel. My CUDA miner supports GetWork and Stratum, so if the latest UFO still supports GetWork, it will do.

i dont know what happened. when i got home this morning, my solo operation had stopped running. i restarted ccminer, and it wouldnt work. when i restarted the wallet, thats when i got this error. im not sure what the deal was. im in the process of reinstalling the wallet fresh now.

This really is just a mater of how lucky the mining rigs are. :-)

if you solve 39 blocks at a pool or 39 blocks solo, you will obviously get more as a solo miner because you dont need to split the reward with anyone.

one of the benefits of mining at a pool is that you are somewhat protected if the difficulty shoots up a lot, where as a solo miner you’re still on your own localised hashrate…if you factor “luck” the same solo miner with the same hashrate could be incredibly lucky and mine the same or more blocks than a pool even if the difficulty was higher…it’s very very unlikely but it’s not impossible…and if you looked over a 1 month period then it would still look like it’s profitable to solo mine.

I didn’t use ccminer for a longer time now, but check the output of

‘ccminer - -help’

I think you can specify the id number(s) of the GPU to use.

It you define GPU0 for one coin and GPU1 for another one it should be possible

CPU - Pentel Pentium G6420 @ 3.7GHz (according to device manager) I don’t know if this is relevant, but it lists that 4 times.

I did all of that…to the best of my ability…I may have left something enabled inadvertently. After doing all of that, I can now boot the computer fine. It hiccups a little on startup, but the 4th GPU is recognized. Everything is perfectly fine, until I start my miner. At that point, the PC freezes, and requires a manual reset. When it comes back up, the 4th GPU is no longer shown. The only way that I can get it to show back up is to turn the machine off, change PCIe slots, then reboot…same situation upon reboot.

I currently have 3 running for a little while, because the down time was maddening…
