I swear I’ve got Gremlins.

I powered down the machine, went so far to unplug it, then restarted it. I did this twice. The second time, things work amazingly well, but I’m scared it won’t last. Performance stats:

GPU 0: 68.0C 1742RPM | 464.0K/466.3kh/s
GPU1: 69.0C 2614RPM | 474.9K/477.2kh/s

I recently tried out my 270 in windows. I couldn’t achieve much more than 420Khash/s

Ha!.. 420…

Anyways, it seems linux can pull the best speeds for the Gigabyte R9 270 2Gb OC edition.

If you need a hand inside SMOS, let me know. I can either set up an nVidia in guiminer-scrypt for proxy in windows 7/8 or I can do cgminer in BAMT SMOS.

I can’t really offer advice unless someone is replicating my setup. I only all ready know, what I’ve all ready done. Sorry I can’t be of any more help.

I can’t find a definitive answer on Windows GPU counts, some people are saying 4 but this has now been overcome, then they don’t go on to say what the new limit is ::)

64-bit Linux is limited to 8 GPUs, 32-bit is limited to 4 GPU’s

I’m with mmyhre on this one, get the basics right from the start. Then add GPU’s as and when you have the funds, something I didn’t do because I got impatient and now I need to go get another MoBo before I can expand over 2 GPU’s ;D

Another thing to remember, at this scale it’s only for fun! so make sure your still having fun playing around with it

Minings an interesting area to study, and very satisfying when you get everything going.

It can also be disturbing if everything blows up, so be very careful to read as much as you can on what it’s all about.
