A Project Manager
-
One reason things don’t move quickly on setting up an organisation, is that is a specialised job setting up a work control system and each application is unique. We also have the problem of varying situations and personnel. I personally don’t like Trello, as a maintenance expert, and mananger of software development of a work control system, it has no usefull features (ie managing cyclic jobs).
However, it is a learning and set-up exercise, so usefull. For a company of our size I would expect it would take 6 to 12 months to set up and train everyone in a new work control system. To the less experienced these things might seem possible to be quicker. Wrong.
I have spent quite a bit of time looking into potential open source and forum work control systems. There doesn’t seem a lot of choice, but the first project should be a list and assessment of our needs and their capabilities.

motherload, I hope it’s just the internet getting lost in translation, but the tone of your message sounds a touch condensing, I’ll presume that’s not how you are intending it, because it would otherwise seem out of place. Organisation is the elephant in the room, we’ve got to nail this correctly and no amount of gaffer tape and quick fixes is going to sort this long term. :)

Muddy has bitten his tounge for now…

You know what,
I will leave it up-to you guys to decide how you want to proceed. Consider all that I have said irrelevant. Also I will not be taking part in this anymore. I don’t think I have enough to contribute to FTC. Good luck to you all and I hope FTC earns a rightful place in the world of Crypto.
Regards,

I’d hate you to quit over this ML. It wasn’t my intention to upset you.

Trello seems interesting, if limited. I think all members of staff should join that. We can transfer cyclic tasks etc identified on that to any permanent system. We had a similar open system on the old forum.
I propose all staff members be made project managers, i.e which means you can. as the can all sign off or add task, or see what needs doing. As with forum moderation. I certainly a start - Trello is easy to access and read.
Members can be made Project managers of specific projects. This would be open but contain organisation and mentor(ing) in its process.

I’m not really gonna puch the trello idea much more, but I still would like to try and keep it updated. I’m not streesed if it is set to private but it’s a nice way to keep track of idea’s. Maybe oneday it grow into more but for now, I would like to continue tracking projects and saving idea’s that are yet to be fleshed out.

From my experience here, people that work and are motivated to do something have not had a project manager but themselves. - This works best from what I have seen.
Having a project manager does not necessarily mean any more work will get done, as I see it all it means is that someone (project manager) will become very un popular very quickly - esp when they’re hounding the workers about what they have done etc, remember everyone is here because they want to make a change and be part something and no one gets paid.
For others I understand a project manager would be a good thing as some people need leadership and need to be directed as what to do next, - I do this by asking here on the forum or / and to chatting to the skype group members which has been helpful for me.
I understand that places like do.com / trello will work for some but not all - if members decide they want a project mananger or want to use trello please do not be upset when others see it differently - for a lot of members its having an awesome idea and then running with it - this is how you get the most out of a project from what I have seen.
All I ask is if you decide to use another platform for project management remember to keep the froum updated too.
I hope what I said makes sense.

I think - pros and cons.
