No, theres allready created an own thread for each of the Weekly news.
The problem is that people see Weekly news, and if they are not allready into feathercoin or invested and have an stake in it. They dont bother to read it.

I agree with that. I think most new entrants in to this scene aren’t really in to forums so we could have separate announcements under the News section in the on the main site then schedule out tweets and facebook posts for the different timezones. We can do forum post as well and link it to it, it’s to make sure it gets full exposure.
A lot of this is about getting the right sequence of activities. Back when Mark worked so hard on the wallets there just wasn’t the demand from the public, most of the demand was just speculative and people were flipping coins on exchanges. Now the crypto scene has become more embedded in the minds of regular folk I think they are doing their research and unlike the early adopters they are looking for coins that align with their values rather than technical innovation.
So if we’re all game we should try pushing again for some of that early work that Svenn and UKMark and Nutnut did, if they are up for it.

That part is dead as far as i know. I havent talked to Ukmark in ages, and i think we agreed that the wallet was to risky investment.

With price so low it might be worth to invest some $ and time into FTC and bring the glory back from depths of time ;)

I am very glad I am small part of this comunity since the beginnig.
Until theres some changes in an positive direction im not gonna recommend any of my friends to invest. So im not gonna go screaming on forum for people to pump/invest their money either.
I think there needs to be alot more than some propagation and consistency. Theres the Feathercoin ATM in the mix, which is an great feature for sure. But what else?
What is beeing done at this very moment? I remember 6months back how entusiastisk alot of people was and new ideas/directions where talked about, but non really got realised.

I might be wrong, Ive not been on the feathercoin forum much lately, usually browsing on bitcointalk, And therefore arent enlighten about the latest development for feathercoin.
I do know a load about myriadcoin,darkcoin,microcoin,Dogecoin,Aidencoin and so on though, which kinda underline my whole point earlier.
Im not gonna get into an “new algo” discussion. Allready said my case on skype. And i dont think people liked my opinion.

FTC did good job not only ATM, add Hullcoin, prostate cancer initiative, market, link and so one.
Due to bad marketing I see tremendous potential vasted.
But that could be easily changed.

Been away (except from an occationally 2sec dropby) doing other RL stuff and focusing on the bigger crypto picture.
Only to return an see that everything seems to be at kinda standstill. Another couple of months people wont any longer know what feathercoin is at all
Mining section seems to contain mostly pools trying to recruit miners, doesnt seem to be any miners there anymore. But why would them, even most of the core team dont mine feathercoin anymore

Newbie section seems to have more spam/commercial than newcommers.
and in general looking over the thread it seems its generally the core people that discuss everything. Small to none new blod with entusiasm and the devotion to bring feathercoin further.

FTC had it in July 13, I’ve been bringing up everywhere I can. Problem is the dev shut it down due to lack of community support.

That’s what gets me about the perception of FTC elsewhere. FTC is innovating far beyond what 90% of the coins in existence do, yet there still is a feeling (for FUD buyers) that FTC is a “scam” to this day. And, I blame John (Justabit).
That’s why I’m currently attempting to rid him from this scene. ;)

I know that, it wasnt my point. They appearently had it as an side project. Just surprice surprice heres an ATM in the making. No idea drafting beforehand etc.
It seems they have initiative and the right core to get stuff done.
Im not saying feathercoin consists of sleepers / lack the initiative.
Im just saying that im positivly surpriced by the myriadcoin team, they do an good job and seem to stand out compared to alot of other coins which starts to become a good amount.

IMO the analyzis/FUD regarding stuff like instadump from litecoin guys, that we are still under attack,and that they mine us just to build an sell wall etc is more damaging atm.
Not to mention that it seems everyone is thinking that an new algo is gonna save feathercoin/make it popular again.
Which in my eyes sounds like a really shortterm/mediocre goal.
Theres new coins coming out every day, and algos poping up all nearly as often (keccak,groestl,X11,X13,Scrypt,Scrypt Adaptive-n,Skein,JHA and so on),
The only thing that happens when an new algo is introduced is alot of back/forth on how to get it working for the miners, then after an day or two theres three new coins using the same algo and voila.
Its not special anymore.
To make an coin stand out you have to adapt to a concept that separate yourself from the other ones and make it an interesting investment.
My suggestions would be to look into the premine concept. Nobody likes premine, cause it will just damage the rep of the coin, and people worry about instadump from the devs as soon as it hits an exchange. Which then again influence the buy interest. But what about integrating an 1% premine over time. Like for example every X block theres an payout to an dev adress. This followed up with it actually being used to promote/development for the coin and have this well documented would surely be okay, and create an healthy eco system for the coin. If im not mistaken i read earlier that bush needed to prioritize RL work and that he asked for fundraising to get an function developed. Which is understandable, but it does make the coin look weak and like an dieing hobby.
A second suggestion would be to look into the block size. As of now theres 200FTC pr block disregarding everything, and an diff adjust every X blocks.
What about making the block size an fluent variable based on time, for example if you find a block 30 seconds after the previouse block you get an smaller block, if you find it long after the previouse block you get an equal larger block value. This will kill the multipool interest, since they sling their hashing power on the chain and work the diff up, they will not get more coins cause they find the block faster than the they are supposed to, but they are worth less. Now if we get pushed up in an diff trap it doesnt matter. Cause when we finally find a block we are looking at an substancially larger block payout.
Note. Im not sure how this could be done on an technical level (blockchain timestamp?), nor have i really thought this one through that much. But it might be worth discussing.
What im trying to say is that i miss an brainstorm as to how the coin is today, whats needs to be done to get it out of the shadow, and actually get going on it.
New algo is not gonna change it, What else?
