List of Feathercoin FPGA/ASIC miners

Thanks for the link. Been meaning to start looking into ASIC’s as the GPU mining days are coming to an end. However I sincerely hope that scrypt currencies change the algorithm as it just won’t be the same without GPU’s :'(
+1 Rep for the great post

I personally think it is early days for FTC and asic mining (given the difficult so low), but I believe that it is important to know what is out there! -
Thanks for starting this thread. Im also thinking in scrypt ASICs but so far it all seems a bit uncertain regarding reliability and performance.
Has anyone here actually bought a scrypt ASIC which is working on FTC? If so, how much did it cost and what’s the hashrate?
Good job with the post!
If you would like to take it upon yourself to be the official scrypt asic/fpga documenter, I think that would be awesome =^-^=
As of right now scrypt ASIC’s are in development. Their performance and hash rate hasn’t been confirmed. However if you look at BFL and how popular their Bitcoin miners are and how they were on backorder for so long you can tell that if you are going to pre-order one now would be the time.

I would be very happy to do it! this is also what I have been doing on the LTC forum.
tnx! -
I’d love to see power compulsion added to the list for each ASIC. At this point that is the only advantage they have over gpu’s. Price per KH/s is no better, and they are worthless once they are outdated (unlike gpu’s which retain value for gaming).

Tnx Ken! It is a good idea…I’ll see what I can find! -
I’m not sure if it was purposely omitted or by accident, but Alpha Technologies is introducing a script ASIC. Not due still til June or so. But since its still not close to market yet, maybe thats why you didn’t include it.

surfguy72,
The complete list of Scrypt FPGA/ASIC developers is here:https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=6506.0
These are products developed for the LTC community, but they are most likely also suitable for FTC mining! On this forum I decided to include only products that have been proven to mine FTC. Hence the gridseed-based products. If alphaTechnology states (of even better shows) that their units can mine also FTC I will be happy to add them to the list. At present their products are not ready, so it would be pure speculation… Thank you

Great post, re: Scypt ASICs - I’ve pinned it for more exposure …

Wow! Thank you very much wrapper! -
The other interesting products which may be soon tested for FTC mining are Scryptor8x from ltcgear.com
I am mentioning ltcgear units (FPGA) because people have received his units and confirmed they works fine with LTC. No other producer has shipped anything so far…Official website: http://ltcgear.com/
Litecoin forum: https://litecointalk.org/index.php/topic,6401.0.htmlOf note: beekepeer (the person behind ltcgear) has previously proposed a feathercoin farm on this thread, so his units are probably able to mine also FTC, but I don’t have any evidence yet!

this london based company sells Gridseed ASIC
http://hashra.com/gridseed-3000-kh-s-asic-scrypt-sha-miner/
the website says they are strting shipping as soon as Chinese New Year holiday is over.
my mate e-mailed these guys, they replied:
right now the units you see in the pictures and video are with our supplier in China. We do not have them in London I’m afraid. We will be heading ourselves to Hong Kong in a few days and we will get more footage and pictures then. Thanks
p.s.
I made a new post about this as I was unaware of this very good comprehensive post. Apologies, I don’t intend advertise them or clatter the forum… -
Well spotted! I didn’t know about it and I will add them to the list as potential distributors of gridseed products. It remains unclear who are official distributors and who are resellers… time (and price) will tell!

Dear Feathercoin community,
I have tried to mine FTC with ltcgear.com products (scriptor8x light) and they work just fine! These is my setup:
- Two Scriptor8x boards (light version, much slower than scripto8x full - currently available)
- Raspberry PI model B running with Scripta (Litecoin mining distro for Raspberry PI: https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=9908.0)
- D-Link 7-Port USB 2.0 Hub (DUB-H7)
- Power supply (Check this link to run it without mother board: http://www.overclockersclub.com/guides/atx_psu_startup/
- 50mm PCB Spacer Hex Stand-Off Pillar

So $260 for the two boards alone - for 142 KH/s ??? :-[

I am not suggesting to buy them, just proving that you can mine FTC with ltcgear.com products.
I have scryptor8x (light), but ltcgear is currently selling 300KH/s units (250$) or 1.5MH/s units (1497$).P.S.
As I stated before I believe that GPU mining is still great for FTC, but it is important to know what hardware will be available when people start looking in to FPGA/ASIC… -

Mining FTC with gridiseed 5 chips miners running on Scripta!

I have some farmshares with LtcGear which are now mining FTC thanks to the owner now adding FTC as an available coin to mine on a limited basis. I will be posting my review after a week or two.
