      Evening chaps and chappets,

      Whilst all hell was breaking loose on the trollbox and the forums were down, i figured i’d create a new pool for our more trusted members to use as either a primary pool or failover pool (or not at all). There’s no fees, it’s just there out of the goodness of my heart :-*. Not publicizing it on the main boards will hopefully help prevent DDoS attacks. It runs p2pool which i figure may help us decentralize the most whilst being transparent. It’s pretty much vanilla so don’t expect too much eye candy…

      point your miners to ftc.nut2pool.com:19327 (thanks iawgoM ;D ) with your payment address as the worker name and password as anything. e.g…

      [code]cgminer --scrypt -o ftc.nut2pool.com:19327 -u 6vnofgCqgpd37jpgLodz88w34VnEGTS7Ch -p x [/code]

      You MUST use your payment address as the username as that’s how you get paid.

      to view stats etc, simply browse to http://ftc.nut2pool.com:19327/

      I may also set up a private chat room and a forum on the server so that we still have a line of comms in the event of attacks.

      Let me know your thoughts.

      Oh, nearly forgot, post your payment addy here if you decide to use it. :D

          Work restarts happen when a block is found. It seems to be the funky way p2pool handles new blocks. As for the diff jumping seems normal too - basically vardiff.

            I know - scary at first. I’ve used p2pool a few times and cgminer does spew out different stuff when compared to the standard pushpool pools.

            I’m keeping an eye ont the daemon/pool and it’s all good.

            p2pool as a network seems to be spitting out a high number of orphan shares (not blocks) though. :(

              Great work nut2, definitly jumping on it after my summer break and when I have the money :/ hopefull mid august or the end of august I should be set up. Need £300 but don’t want to sell my £120 worth of btc and ftc. Also, happy birthday mate. Hope you find a lot of blocks hehe ;)

                  Hey Nutty,

                  If I have a few different miners, do I need to point each of them to a different wallet address? Have you set an automatic payout threshold or is it just paid out when a block is found, I’d have thought that would mean lots of small transactions and many fees?

                    You can point them all to the same address.

                    The payouts show in your wallet as “mined” so it’s more like solo mining (ie the pool ops can’t play silly bees with your coins). The down side is you have to wait for 120 confirms but they fly ATM

                    It does take a while to ramp up the payouts though so dont be panicked if you dont see a payout for a while.it’s kinda like pplns.

                    Might create a second pool for smaller miners and to add another node to the network…

                      Ok, pointed my three miners at it using address 6sdZQtPqTzKJwN8xxosefbLjqpSvQn5rge, should be about 180KH/s or so.

                        cgminer refusing to start for me which usually means incorrect address, but have tripled checked everything :(

                            The difficulty is pretty high (it’s automatic) so shares are slower than a standard pplns. You [i]should[/i] get the same over 24hours though.

                            Here’s an FAQ that explains it a bit more.

                            Real tied up at the mo but i’ll try to explain it all a bit better later on.

                                The work restarts are normal - they happen when a block is generated on the network.

                                No block on the entire p2pool network for over 2 hours! :'(

                                  Just a quick question, does not every miner get some small payout from every block found in P2Pool? I’ve never used it before and am not very clear on how it works.

                                  I’m just a little surprised that last night I got 2 small payouts totalling 1.6FTC and today I only got one of 0.5FTC, although looking at the Last Blocks section, it looks like there were quite a few blocks mined today?

                                  What am I missing?

                                    It goes on the number of shares you’ve personally found. That’s the number of shares found at the p2pool difficulty not what cgminer reports. Our pool has found 961 shares in nearly 2 days (thats 25% of the entire p2pool network! :o ) so it depend on how many are yours

                                    What’s you wallet address and i’ll look through the logs to see you share finds?
