He’s saying that because it’s perception is bad, people may have underestimated it’s value. The amount of under/overestimation is subject to debate. Ready? GO!
Well, I know now that I overestimated it’s value and currently stuck on what I thought was going to be a 7 day turnaround at worst. I since looked into it more and learned that the guy DigitalIndustry (former FTC forum member who left after a disagreement) who I thought was the Dev, is not the Dev and is not looked upon highly at all as the current PR guy. But, he apparently is the only guy who decided to step up and do something with PR … so credit to him for that. He’s just not very good at the job, not his fault. At least he’s trying and was successful with this big media blitz.
HOWEVER, I then learned that he was a Bill Still disciple of sorts and after learning his economics via Bill Still, he then contacted Bill years later (now) to inform him about Quark Coin. Around the same time Bill Still speaks on Quark on his youtube channel, he puts up a donation address for Quark. 300K plus Quark rolled in and a lot of times it was in 50K chunks. There is speculation this was payment from Kolin (DigitalIndustry) for talking about Quark and whether that even matters.
I’ve tried discussing the dev situation with Hazard, but he either grew tired of the back-n-forth or has no opinion … which would be completely out of character, considering that’s about all he does on bitcointalk is call out devs. So, I’m waiting for his response because he’s usually right about the dev’s he calls out and I have no clue about this guy “Max” who is the actual dev. I assume there are others judging by the forum discussions, but I see nothing official.
So, this all leaves me 50/50 on Quark. It’s either going to end up horribly for all invested (now) OR going to btc38 (if it actually happens, they’ve stated it’s a done deal) and Bill talking on Keiser’s show airing 12/19 (last I heard, recording 12/16) will give it another big spike … then another big selloff, then purgatory, then it ends up horribly for all still invested.
I just don’t see Quark Coin going anywhere past 12/19, except down. They seem caught completely off guard by the sudden attention (then why did you seek it out!). They have no leadership in the forums and the one pretending to be leadership is failing at the job. If Justabit is listening, they could use your expertise and it looks like they’re willing to pay … so it’s a win/win situation. ;)
High : 0.0005 BTC
Low : 0.00002 BTCUpdate : Something I just remembered, which causes me some grief to think about is … when DigitalIndustry first came to this forum he was boasting about how many rigs he and his group had and they were thinking of getting behind feathercoin, but things went sour. Then apparently he moved onto Quark … and I can only imagine where all that cpu power he was bragging about went to use. Now the accusation I read, “mine it all in 6 months before too many gain interest”, is really hitting home. :(

Thanks for the input guys, interesting thoughts on quark too. I can’t believe crypto is crashing right now all over that Chinese banking restriction. What did they expect the central bank to do tell all the financial institutions ‘sure throw your money in bitcoin’. Hope this doesn’t ruin the whole pot of altcoins and everything too but I’m inclined to believe in a bounceback.

China is a huge market - people are just starting to realize that now. I’m sure it’ll bounce back but markets are weird like that. Yesterday the stock market tanked based upon great news [There were underlying reasons why good news was bad news, but I wont get into that]. -
I am staying with FTC all the way, if price comes down I will just buy more, we got to look at the long game. Storms will come and go but if the community keeps growing and we all plod along we will get there in the end. The tortoise and the hare comes to mind.
The same.

Here’s an example of JABOTs publicity “effort” for Feathercoin, but applied to him. I’ll probably have to moderate myself off later, but till then, enjoy …
John Manglaviti, Myths no. 1 John Manglaviti, is not an egotist and coin manipulator.
I was at Feathercoin when John was P.A, and although I didn’t agree with him a lot of times I can’t believe he deliberately tried to manipulate coins for profit on the exchanges.
John Manglaviti, Myths no. 2 John Manglaviti is Dead
A bit like the Paul MacCartney story that went around in 1969, the fact that he wore no shoes meant he died in 1968. Which all tuned out to be not true.
John Manglaviti, Myths no. 3 John Manglaviti is involved in scam coins and crap coins.
Obviously not true, he was involved in Feathercoin.
John Manglaviti, Myths no. 4 John Manglaviti is a Pump and Dumper.
Not true, although he admitted he dumped his Feathercoins on the forum after he left, I didn’t notice him pump them.
