First church to accept Feathercoin Donations
-
Well, I got off from work today to find this in my email
Dear Frederick,
thank you for your e-mail which was sent on June 9th, 2013. Today I finished creating our Feathercoin donation page. I think we’re the first church in the world to accept Feathercoins. Would you like to make the first donation? You can do so by going to www.stjohnsgoshen.com/feathercoin–
Father Adaly Rosado, Jr.
Parochial Vicar
Church of Saint John the Evangelist
71 Murray Ave
Goshen, NY 10924Phone: 845.294.5328
Fax: 845.294.2577

This was back in the day when we were doing those mass mailings under Jabot. Anyways I made a donation to them and if anyone else wants to feel free :)
-
I agree the normal donation page or actually the entire site has no mention of feathercoin at all.
-
Is it possible to get this confirmed…?
I’ve had look at their website and we’re not on the donations page, am I missing something…? (browsing on my phone)
Same for me, but Iam browsing on my computer.

I checked too, it looks like their donation page is void of both their Bitcoin and Feathercoin donation page links and are only accessible with the links. I’ll email him though to see if he can get a link to the pages on the donation page.
-
Nice on Aysyr, keep us posted :)

Well thats interesting because it looks like they no longer take FTC. The FTC page is gone and the donation page states that they accept bitcoin, litecoin, and PPC. They even have a tab on the main navigation banner at the top just for PPC. No FTC. I wonder what sparked the change?
they looked at FTC price and thought it was worthless…
You are wrong.

I’ve just written back to them to check where the problem is, I think it is because the Market in available from here and the market has adult material, I’ve written to check.
-
Yea he emailed me about it as well. I think the problem isn’t so much that it’s used to purchase the material, but that the material is easily directed to parishioners looking into Feathercoin since it’s on the main site itself.
i dont see any FTC adult content anywhere.
where is it?

Ok I would like to ask if we draw a line under this because it’s not productive. It is very disapointing what has happened and as aysyr has said it’s because the Feathercoin Market should not be on the Feathercoin domain. I am actively pushing for it’s removal and for it to be put somewhere else.
There is no adult content on the market and I suspect now that they take PPC that there is more going on here than meets the eye.
Rather than fixate on the past there is lots of other exciting stuff we are working on and would like to focus on increasing the momentum of those.
I am here if you need anything, going to be a late one tonight as Kevlar and I are having a brainstorming session about the Kickstarter and some other exciting new ideas.
The only way the PPC community was informed of the coin being added was from the Feathercoin thread. If a PPC holder outside of the direct community made the request, that’s something we wouldn’t know about.

To be fair its a good thing I would prefer it was silk road than a church at least silk road was honest about the shit they were selling.

Amen to that! -
I think moving the Feathercoin Market is the best plan, keep the forum focus.
We should then tell the churches we have made / are making that effort and get them back on board. The donations shows the ease and possibility and of donations for other uses as well as for the church. Which can be of a social security than religious in some countries, more than perhaps here in the UK.
