I’ll have some charity options to share with the community shortly (from my perspective). Talking to quite a few right now, figuring out logistics.
Awesome=)
Personally i would like to see some cancer research / cancer patient support charities. Thats just my personal opinion due to loosing family to it.
me 4 :D

If we wanted to get cash to charities, i’m sure a reputable member wouldn’t mind cashing it out and sending the fiat?
Of course proof would need to be provided.

ftc is cryptoCASH, therefore we should look for a cancer charity organisation who accepts ftc … money is money imo.
If we cant find anyone, we simply found one on our own.
A charity project under the bride … -
Anyone know of any that supports ftc “out of the box”, and have a good reputation?
Is it one thing I’ve learned in my country is that there is ALOT of “charities” where 99% of the donations are going to the administrational costs and other things that do not benefit the ones that needs it… -

Buy something with your ftc and send it to the organization or better the people who need it - only way you can be sure 100% of your donation goes to the ones who need it
Buy some food and give it to the homeless
Buy cloths and do it the same way

Okay, justabit has heard back from bitgive and this was there response
"I talked with my Board and we (and BitPay) unfortunately do not have the infrastructure to accept Feathercoins. Would it be possible to collect the donations in Feathercoin and then exchange them for BTCs to donate to BitGive? Then we can acknowledge that we are receiving donations from the Feathercoin community? I think you had mentioned this might be a possibility before.
We have acknowledgements up on our website for our current donors and supporters (http://bitgivefoundation.org/donate.html), so it could look something like that. We would also do facebook and twitter announcements when donations are received. We have done those for our current donors and supporters and they are getting re-tweeted and “shared,” so that would get Feathercoin some exposure. You would have to help me with identifying a central place to point people to re: Feathercoin to include in the acknowledgements.
I greatly appreciate your interest and desire to help raise donations for BitGive, and I’d like to work with you to find a solution that we are both happy with. Please let me know your thoughts on this approach or if you have other suggestions."
They are a little concerned about the security of the coin at the moment too.

imo, the basic thought of donating in ftc gets lost of amount will be changed to btc
Agreed. I did mention cashing out and donating earlier but that does defeat the object of “charity x accepts FTC”
As a side note, i also got a 50FTC donation yesterday count me in. ;)

Suggestions:
We do a competition to raise as much FTC as we can in to a general pot and people can vote on which charity it should go to. If the charity rejects it we roll it over and receive more donations and keep repeating the process making our way through registered charities.
As the amount goes up and we go through a charities the market forces will kick in and I bet you someone will take it. Especially as we introduce Advanced Checkpointing and SMS Address/FTC for the Homeless.
Your thoughts friends?
