I have deleted my Litecoin wallet
-
The revelation that Litecoin devs intend to wait for some slowpoke market gorrilla to add features or innovate tells me it’s time to close the book.
I appreciate the need to focus on having a secure implementation, but I’m really starting to feel what Bushstar was saying before: “this coin is boring.”
In order for Litecoin to serve the public it can’t just be secure. It has to grow featurewise, or please shut up about the forks. We’re not going to waste time waiting for features to be approved by a bunch of people who have no interest in keeping up with people’s needs.
If the only usage of coins that Litecoin devs can imagine is buying and selling, then sorry but I’m not gonna spend time both convincing folks to accept changes and experiment with ideas. Why crawl uphill when you can fly? (feathers, fly, hello, right… :) )
-
Good work - I hope you sent the coins out before deleting, though ;)
I have deleted too; mainly to clear space on my laptop and also due to having transferred them to Btc-e primed for a dump when it finally hits Gox. -
Well said +1

You can mine FTC and LTC with the same rig ;D
What I mean is just switch the pool on cgminer, you don’t need different program to mine like BTC / YAC / FTC etc

I’m sorry to hear this.
I like both Litecoin and Feathercoin.
My view is not what the developers think as is important but what the community and free markets think.
This is your choice and I respect that. I’m just trying to keep my head down and keep working and avoid all the drama and bickering.
I came to feathercoin because of the awesome attitude. I’m not doing this out of spite. It is simply impossible to develop solutions with someone who sees corporations as producers. They’re waiting for others to build the foundation, so they’ll be unfashionably late.
I appreciate your input Smoothie, which is why I’m pushing through the boring part of what will raise up Leathercoin, our secret Leviathan.

When is leathercoin planned to be rolled out? This is a library right?
Discoverability.
- being able to quickly access the classes that need to be modified because they are in a well known place
- being able to see structure by looking at the filenames without even opening them.
- being able to build any of the coins that have been released with a configuration file.
- being able to modify the interface easily
Network simulation using independent clusters of shaders in GPUs.
More than a library.

I’ve only had 3 Litecoins for about a 1-1.5 months now haha. I’ve long invested all that I had (upwards of 6k I think?) into Feathercoins and Phenixcoin. Here’s to hoping the best for my investment, and all of yours as well.

I have kept my Litecoin wallet. Litecoin has an established network and fits with Feathercoin.
It would be better to take control and pass Feathercoin developments back to them, and use their updates if needed by Feathercoin. When will humans learn knocking someone else down, does not build you up!
It’s the “not” negative way forward.
I have to agree that most of the comments in this thread are a bit harsh and against the ideals of the whole principal of working with other coins to improve the entire crypto community. I’m not currently a holder of litecoin or any of the other alts other than Feathercoin, but feel extending an olive branch with suggestions would go much farther than sending a nuke.
If I can’t modify a piece of software, without jumping through hoops, I won’t use it. Someone who sees corporations as the only producers, and the rest of us as second class, is just going to be an unnecessary obstacle. I joined this community because of the open attitude. Litecoin abandoned that attitude.
It’s not a nuke. It’s a loud shrug. I can’t work with the passive free market model. “We’ll get to it whenever…” is not where I want to be.
-
I never hated Litecoin, I just saw other coins as better investments and exchanged LTC for them :)
But I agree, content will be the downfall of Bitcoin and Litecoin, if that is indeed their attitude towards the coin’s development now. Cryptos was made through evolution and adaptation. It only makes sense that coins that follow that schema and continue to adapt and develop to fill their users needs would end up being the preferred crypto.
-
I’ve deleted my Litecoin wallet nearly a month ago with no regrets so far. Litecoin is between Bitcoin and Feathercoin like between hammer and anvil. I’m not impressed by their approach to development and marketing, it’s very passive. Their low tolerance to other cryptos does them no favour, too.

I said this before… cryptocoins are software. If software doesn’t advance with either efficiency or features it stagnates. If the software stagnates then something else comes along. Mac stagnated and we got windows, windows and novell stagnated and we got OSX and linux. OSX is stagnating…
I have nothing against the litecoin folks but you can only sit around and wait for so long. The movie clerks had the best advice… “shit or get off the pot dante…”

First, I want the MtGox effect delivered.
