I’m curious, what brought you into the Feathercoin community? What makes you come back to the forums? Why do you choose to volunteer your valuable time?

Being a ruthless miner…Profitability at first. As time goes on I feel at home here. I also think that others feel the same and eventually we’ll win out over all the other alts.
I’m going soft! ::)

Tried to light it up with litecoin but they didn’t want the honey.

Saw from the beginning how popular this coin was, I remember when cryptonit was the only exchange that had them! I remember i bought like 5500 of them, and when they hit btc-e missed my chance to sell them and make a huge profit, thought they were gona go up even more. I lost all hope in this coin after a whille, but then i found this forum and how strong the community is, i just know and have faith that this coin will be huge, maybe not today or tomorrow, but one day.

When I knew about bitcoin and litecoin it’s already too late for me to stick to that crypto.
When I saw Feathercoin is going to lunch, it become popular in an instant, so I decided to got it, and be part of its adventure.For me feathercoin and this community is valuable that’s why its worth my valuable time.

I mined a few hundred a few days after it was launched just as a “Hey why not.” Then I found out about the community and decided to stick around due to the friendly atmosphere and the fact that everyone wants to make something out of the coin. Definitely different then any other coin community out there. Crypto coins are a curiosity to me, not really concerned with making a profit, so why not mine one that has a bunch of nice people? :D

Initially got in on mining on day #2 (which was one week after setting up my first rig). Traded on cryptonit for decent profit immediately into LTC. While I’m a frequent chatter on #wemineltc I’m on the FTC bandwagon to see where it goes. Being new to cryptos it feels good to venture out along with others venturing out. While my intent is profit (I don’t have 6x 7950s running for free), I’m willing to give FTC a few months to sort itself out. Plus I’m invested in it after my last buy on the swings at 0.0015 so it’s in my interest to see it go back up to at least that (exceeding that I think should be possible in the next 6 mos. if there’s no slipups and the miners return slowly)

Feathercoin gives a good feeling … ;)

Initially I jumped on the alt-coin bandwagon trying to make a quick buck, but the more I learned about the community, the more I wanted to be a part of it. I understand well the value of having a large community to support a crypto-currency: Without it, it goes nowhere, and becomes useless and worthless. I’ve been welcomed since the start, and now I feel like I’m interweb-friends with the usual’s here.

[/quote]Same, it was the first coin I was able to get on in earlyish… PLUS maybe favorite number when I was young was 4, now it’s 16… and guessed when it was released… 4-16 !!! Haha so I took it as a sign I should mine it. After that I got stuck on it because it was the first coin that actually seemed to be built on user and community input and I can see it going really far once it gets a good footing in the public.

I was currious about bitcoin after someone tell me about it so read a bit and for fun start mining bitcoin for 3 weeks and accumulate nearly nothing. then go for some litecoin for 2 weeks or so, I then figure out i will never been paid before at least 2 year at my hash rate on wemineltc (min payout is 5 LTC). I look what was other coin out their if i can mine for some rewards. I found that Feathercoin was conscider to be a minor coin but with good potential. one source at the time was

I took a look and found FTC-pool-geek and even to 188 diff would let me take something one day(still below 1FTC at 15kh/s for 5h/day, I only mine at home on evening while doing other things with a crappy 4560 card). So begin to mine and check the FTC forum and found the community to be friendly.I was interested by the security aspect of the crypto coins. I have read a lot on attacks and issue for all crypto coins in the last 2 month. So around 329xx a block found in my pool becomes orphan long time after been found and had 1 confirm at least(more then one hour later i think). then I begin to look at the chain to understand how this could be possible at a so low hash rate. Then read a lot on stale and was curious how this can have happen was expecting propagation of found block issue(was wrong with that guest). so I begin to look more closely at the chain and its info and found more fork this add to my interrogation and made me suspicious of something abnormal was happening. so I begin to correlate and search more fork. only after 33000 I figure out the scheme. I was still learning how to interpret the chain correctly so took me a couple of days to make sure I was not wrong.
I keep around because of the friendliness of most of the community even after exposing fact some call me troll. But I’m still skeptical that any POW alt coins (other then LTC) can have enough hash power to be secure at the level it needs to increase significantly in value. but for sure Feathercoin is probably one of the alt coins that can make it. so i’m interested to continue learning the crypto coins and doing it with friendly poeple is better. so I will help if I can, but with moderation.

I too missed the BTC and LTC gravy train… I was looking for a coin that looked promising and a friend said I should check out FTC… I then started looking at the forums and seen how it was noob friendly and helpful… So here I am…

Like a lot of the others, I completely missed the BTC train, and was mining Litecoins (slowly) when BigVern started a Feathercoin pool. I thought I’d take a look, started mining and then found the forums.
The community is what keeps me here.
