Cart and Store

I found this VirtueMart plugin for Bitcoin. I am thinking of getting this changed for Feathercoin.

If we get a decent cart working I would like to put a merchandise store on this site payable in Feathercoin. There are services that if you give them the high resolution graphics they will produce various products to order with our brand. So when you order one T-shirt, they print and send one T-shirt.
So someone can pay in Feathercoin, I can authorise the purchase which will have to be paid for from my bank account, though I should probably get a separate business bank account for this. There is a certain amount of risk involved but it would be great to have a real world shop accepting Feathercoin.
Let me know what you think.

That is so awesome, as soon as there is a easy to use plugin available for all web-shop owners (virtuemart is being used a lot) FTC will rise!
I’ll buy a shirt at your store 8).
About the FTC value, are you going to use BTC-e to “know” what FTC is worth or something like that?
-
I would suggest getting a stock of items like mousemats, mugs, lanyards, tee-shirts etc using USD donated by community members, and pricing them purely in FTC, with the price set at roughly their value at a current (averaged) FTC/USD rate, with a weekly or monthly price decrease/increase based on what the difficulty/hashrate trends are, sort of decoupling the fiat worth from the FTC worth.
Any comments?

I’m thinking of sticking to order on demand so we do not have to worry about stock control. I would use BTC-e prices to find out how many FTC people need to pay and covert the orders in the back end using a real world account. I would then use MtGox to transfer the money back to the account by wire. If I did this over £1000 then I would need to add 1.3% to cover the wire fee of 2,000Yen. I could probably spread this over twice the amount, then the fee would halve.
It is doable and after a beta period I would be happy to automate the whole process. I would only keep a certain amount in the real world account to reduce the amount of damage that could be done if the system was compromised.

That’s really exciting Bushstar.

Great thoughts, really interested into the t-shirt stuff. Keep us updated ;)

I have only just found this section :)
Great Idea, sounds like a plan 8) -
I think this is a great idea. The more real world applications we can get for FTC, the more popular it will become.

Oh yeah!
