RE: Smart contract bounty
Ironically, it’s the smart contract layer that could help handle bounties. Crypto has all the technical
solutions to this issue. We have clearly have a human need for this technology. On the issue of bounties, I believe that bounties are a promise, they shouldn’t be pulled. It’s not fair on any developers working towards it. They should be locked with contact holding them until the rules of the contract are met.
It was trust that broke down which caused the bounty to be retracted, we need to be trust-less.
I’m still hoping that this whole thing will be resolved. Having been a FTC member for many moons, I’d like to believe that @mirrax in an error of judgement, hasn’t returned the BTC out of principle rather than actual theft and that he will see sense and realise that rather than protecting the bounty he’s putting it at risk.

RE: Welcome to the new forum.
Thanks for the kind words @aciddude and @ftchold.
There’s some great features we can use to really help the community organise. One of my favourites, is the groups, I’ve created a test group here so you can get a feel for the group system. I’m hoping that community projects can have their own group and their own moderated forums either public or private (or maybe both of them), to help announce and organise. I’ve created a some community subforums here.

Awesome! I used to design websites 10 years ago. Im a little (lot) rusty now but let me know if I can be of any help, even if all I can do is donate.
Looking forward to this!
Thanks! I’ll take you up on that offer. There’s plenty to do. Can you drop me your skype address via a PM, if I haven’t got it already :)

Welcome to the new forum.
We have migrated the forum but there is still plenty to do. There may be things which don’t work or are not looking quite as expected. Please help us out by reporting bugs, flagging posts that don’t display correctly and we will do our best to fix them up.
Huge thanks to @uncle_muddy for his hard work!
and … Welcome to the even newer web site and forum and continuing development is now discussed here :

RE: Exchanges that trade Feathercoin (FTC)
Comkort said they trade feathercoin too. I’ll add them to the list.

RE: block accounts
This whole thing saddens me. I’m not normally in favour of Bounties being retracted once publicly announced. Putting a bounty there adds a goal to developers, developers who could be actively working on code to claim the bounty, this saga hurts them too. What would happen if Kraken’s bounty was claimed today? Is it tough luck to the devs? The bounty is a promise to be held in escrow.
However in the case of Kraken’s bounty, trust has broken down between the donor and escrow, and funds still haven’t turned up with an alternative member of the team to establish trust again.
@mirrax there is no reason not to return the funds immediately, there is no moral high ground. It’s taken too long, and you are on the wrong side of the argument and the damage to the community and your own reputation is severe. Sort it out.

Feathercoin Monthly meeting
I’m hoping to encourage a monthly meeting where the notes are available to the public. In advance, I will produce an agenda which will be discussed by the team during the meeting. Perhaps a live stream event with chat box for the general public? The primary purpose of the meeting will be to set goals for the coming month and attempt to create a long term (6 month roadmap), which will be addressed each month and discussed. A roadmap meeting will be refreshed every 6 months, or adhoc when needed.
Event has been posted on the calendar here.

Can crypto currency learn from social animals?
We all know the incentives are wrong, you stand to gain the most from crypto currency, and pretty much life in general, if you are a heartless selfish bastard. The curse of pump and dumps is rife where the initial boom and promises get cashed out leaving behind bag holders who bought into the dream. I couldn’t live with shattering people’s dreams, but then I’m not a bastard.
So I was wondering last night, has evolution found an answer (it’s had enough time) to the puzzle of cooperation in large numbers? Well yes, it has. Even the simplest things like Bacteria have quorum sensing mechanism to assist in mutually beneficial cooperation, quorum sensing is a token like voting system allowing bacteria to agree to carry out an activity, like glowing or releasing their poison payload when their concentration is high.
What about bees? Bees, when you think about it, are like nectar miners, the pop off and complete a work based task and get rewarded in nectar by the daisy chain. So why cooperate? Why not just scoff all the nectar themselves? Well, clearly it has been and advantage to survival.
A single bee can only eat so much at once, so coordination leads to efficiency, imagine the daisy rewards were variable, and you happen to stumble upon a large number of daisy ‘blocks’ with high rewards in a high concentration, if you coordinate with friends in a bee pool, do your waggle dance and tell them the location of the good stuff you can all work together in mining the concentrated resource and pool resources for the future development of the entire hive. Give some stored nectar in the form of honey to the hive development for the future and pass on knowledge.
What we need is a way to pool together, learn from each other, so the hive benefits, the future of our individual survival is dependant on the very hive that feeds us.

RE: Action item - get FTC to Poloniex
https://www.poloniex.com/support/faq/
Poloniex reviews coin submissions and makes decisions based on several criteria. Where applicable, a coin must have:
A block explorer
A website
A unique genesis block :rage:
A compiled wallet
