Yes, you are probably seeing both their cold storage and hot wallets like it was said earlier. While they could try skimming, it might a bit risky on their part considering the people behind it have quite a reputation to uphold and a steady income with the amount they charge on fees.
Sure, it is possible they could use their large holdings of coins to manipulate prices and it is always good to be skeptical and make sure you use a multitude of services instead of a single one to make sure you have a backup.

What if there was some sort of jackpot which randomly paid out a certain percentage to a few people when they bought a grenade and the chances to get extra coins increased the higher the price of the grenade got.

Yea, don’t expect to win when gambling. When you do win, don’t expect to win if you play again. It isn’t easy, but you have to learn to take a loss and leave (same with a win).

I really like this idea. Making some sort of MMO that has the potential to be popular that uses Feathercoin as its currency would be great. Problem is it takes a long time and a good amount of funding to create a good, balanced and stable game which keeps people coming back. Although if we could somehow get a well established game or game company to take up this idea…hmm.

Implementing a mining system in the game to mine coins might be nice, but also give an option for people to deposit coins instead of mining. Have some sort of subscription (in Feathercoins) per month to play the full game.

I could see them attempting to attack it again, but considering that their last attack was unsuccessful, it might not be worth the money to them. Either way, if it didn’t work the first time, I don’t see how it would work a second time. One or two people are not going to bring down a community this strong.

As I do think the attack helped us, I doubt it is over. There is someone out there who invested a good amount of money and time into attacking the coin and he/she is not happy right now. He/she probably will try again within the week. At this point though, I feel that the attacker realizes that if an attack of that scale didn’t kill off the coin, but in fact helped increase its value, it might not be worth wasting more money and time. Either way we will stand strong against any attack.

Haha well, the attacker(s) helped get us a lot of attention, now we must capitalize on that attention. Plus, they have not achieved their goal, Feathercoin is still alive and kicking.

Yes, I am up to 212, it is likely that they increased the confirm requirement to 250-300.
