My Feathercoin giveaway has began! I am a large holder in Feathercoins and want to boost it’s popularity. To do this I am offering the equivalent of 10$ in feathercoins for every person that gets the feathercoinQT wallet and sends me their newly made address.

I will be doing this up to the one hundredth address I receive and depending on the results I get on the ftc market I will either continue or discontinue these giveaways. can you remove the hard drive and plug it into another pc via external usb\IDE\SATA adapter
Then browse the drive and copy the wallet file

I like to keep redundant copies in case a hard drive crash etc.
even a good 'ol paper FTC wallet in case I forget my wallet password

checking in on this. thinking about trying to get a FTC funded video
May post on bitcointalk.

My suggestions are:
A FTC sponsored video featured on the opening credits of the video. However has to be done in such a way that the video doesn’t come off like a total ‘sellout’ to ftc sponsor (or any sponsor for that matter)

I think it has to be presented similar to a kickstarter campaign

If the opening credits were used to [b]educate and introduce[/b] the FTC funded artists initiative (insert your own FTC project name here)

then… [color=red]presenting the world first 100% Funded cryptocoin rock video.
Exclusively funded by the feathercoin crypto currency[/color]

something like that anyway…

Furthermore, I believe this needs to be presented on a separate domain, with a cool name etc, donate FTC button etc. new artist application forms etc.

I would love to have my band ‘toxsyn’ be the 1st band out of the gates on this initiative.

fyi, I am headed to Kentucky next week to record 4 songs with my US producer, then back to Canada to mix and master my debut cd for my band, second video to be shot mid july\early august.

Conservative budget for a fully produced cd by a reputable producer is $2500 CAD in my case.
A fully produced video is $1000.

I am a musician, and have wanted to do this, the main problem I have (as a musician selling my music)
Speaking objectively, and not as a FTC supporter\believer:
These are my opinions (and I know many of these questions will be asked by my many musician friends)

1. Converting fiat to FTC; As FTC fluctuates, I want to make sure I am always going to get .99 per song, for example
   as a musician I am not interested in fluctuations. I want the same FTC value as FIAT.
   There has to be a way to convert FTC to current fiat values.
2. getting FTC out of exchanges and into my pocket to support myself (or fund future endeavors)

Most full time musicians (I believe) would need the cash in hand to survive etc.
I see them using FTC as payment, but not as a means to buy other services.
So FTC would be converted to fiat

My producer for example would not take FTC or BTC as payment for services.
It’s very often a cash based system.

I can see however musicians and bands using FTC to save for future needs to a certain extent.

it’s very basic,

create a bat file backup_wallet.bat
win 7\8
(I create this in directory c:\users\appdata\roaming\feathercoin)

[b] for (windows 7/8)
[/b]cd c:\users\(user profile)\appdata\roaming\feathercoin
copy wallet.dat feathercoin_wallet.dat
copy feathercoin_wallet.dat c:\(your own directory for wallet files)

on my desktop, I have a backup.bat that launches each backup_wallet.bat from the directory of the coin (FTC, BTC etc.)
I run this every day, then ‘Duplicati’ automatically runs to backup the special wallet files folder to the cloud.

You MUST backup your wallet.dat files
I crudely implemented a daily wallet backup system on my pc that allows me to upload all my different wallet.dat files to cloud storage.

To put is simply:

1. I created a simple windows bat file to copy my many different cryptocoin wallet.dat files into a specific backup directory.
   (I automatically rename each wallet.dat according to the coin it belongs to)
2. created a master backup.bat file to handle the task of backing up multiple wallets
3. run a free backup program called ‘duplicati’ that interface with just about any cloud based storage you can think of. (google, skydrive etc.)

Also includes encryption for that extra protection

I run this backup daily. it requires very little storage and uses very little bandwidth, because i am only backign up my wallet.dat files.

(can’t use BTC, as it is too costly to convert back to USD and get into my bank easily)

maybe a set amount of FIAT to be dynamically adjusted by value of FTC?
example $10 converted to xxx FTC.
Donator would have a min and max % FTC contribution -10% + 10% FTC
if prices fluctuated too much, donator could cancel.

Maybe your band would like to do some promos? Maybe accept Feathercoin for songs etc… Drop me a PM with an ideas you have, I can make it work. I was (and still am) lead guitarist for a band called Embrionic. We had massive PR in the early 90s as an underground band from Long Island… had a great writeup in Metal Edge Magazine.

I handled it when I was like 16. :) It was quite a bit different before JoeUser knew of the Internet… I was setting up interviews in fanzines and doing flyer exchanges.
