How to check if Solo Mining works correctly
-
Hi wrapper!
Thanks so much for the reply! So at least it was not an obvious thing for me to miss, but in fact not easy to find out.
Please allow me to ask: What is the difference of running you own node with one miner (in my understanding this would be a pool with one client?) to actual solo mining? -
You are a node on the p2pool network. The difference (between totally solo mining) is you still “share” any blocks found (round the global pool).
The advantages over online pools, no central pool, no registration, no external pool, your own stats / charts / settings.

P.S. even with guides etc, mining and developing crypto currency is for people “who like to play with computers”, to say the least.

Damn, this is amazing! I did not see this yet. Thanks! I will have a look at this ASAP! (Can wait to get off work… Get home… Do ALL the chores… Kiss the wife and Kids good night… and start. ETA 10:30 pm :disappointed: ) -

Useful? - Nope. Nothing less than Excellent!
I have seen the guide before in my endavour to Setup the whole System in Ubuntu Server. Now it will help me again! -
In the end, solomining will give you approximately the same reward as poolmining. - You just have to be patient. For the “How to check if Solo Mining works correctly”, there is no indicatior, if you mine and you get displayed your hashes it looks fine. You wont get any message about submitted shares, as if you find a correct “Hash” its a Block. So if you miner says 1/1 ACCEPTED YAY! - You found a block.
Kindly regards,

If anyone wants to know: SoloMining works for me. I solved a block after 5 days, which is above average. But this is a numbersgame. In the long run, it should level out to the to expect average value. So I hope
