Wow that entire 400 BTC buy wall at BTCE is gone, removed! We should head up in value now. Good time to buy perhaps now at .00037 or .00038!
and how exactly does the removal of 50% of the buy support mean it should head up in value? ::)
if they want to buy cheap why create an artificial floor that is yet to be sold into? just saying the logic isnt all there. i agree though btc-e is accumulating a lot of coins. btw did someone mention a 10M coin sell order during the last pump? is that true?

If there’s a problem you are the problem. I am crossposting this from over here.
Hello friends,
Here are some more thoughts on how we can improve Feathercoin’s resilience against the current market forces. While I may be speaking in categorical terms this is only to save myself time from caveating everything I say with “my opinion is” or “there is a tendency to…” etc. Please offer your objections or thoughts.
TLDR:

Improve the website

Spend and earn your Feathercoins for real goods

Get involved: if there’s a problem you are the problem
1. Make a better website
Knowing how to look good is in itself a form of knowledge. When speculators approach their purchasing decisions in a market they are not buying what they think is a good, they they are buying what they believe other people think is good. That’s the difference between a speculator and a retail buyer who buys for their personal utility.
Question: With the same information I have just learned what will other people do?
If answer = buy then buy now and sell later for profit. So by making our website new and current we will be sending a powerful signal to the speculators (liquidity pools) in the market that we believe in ourselves and know how to communicate with others.
In addition it will also help encourage new members join.
Remember reputation is not a choice, it exists as soon as two or more people agree on a fact about you.
2. Spending and earning Feathercoin
Another thing you can do to increase Feathercoin’s market cap is to buy and sell everyday goods and necessities for Feathercoin giving the market an alternative price comparison than just Feathercoin Vs Bitcoin. You can break down your Feathercoins in to 3 categories:

The ones you save/hoard

The ones you spend and earn on everyday goods and services

The ones you use to manage your risk in the market (eg arbitrage of selling in to strength on the market
Personally I tend only to engage in the first two. But risk management is a healthy part of anyone’s financial port folio and I do not want to ignore it.
Most people just do number 1 because it is the easiest. Number 2 is often left to other people but the I would claim that it’s not as difficult as you think and will be a strong signal to the market that you believe Feathercoins are worth more than some theoretical future value.
By only engaging in 1 and 3 you are making yourself a slave to the market, the general will of society. You are allowing your activities to be controlled by the decisions and beliefs of others and depriving yourself of independence.
3. Getting involved in Feathercoin development
In a business you are engaged in 3 principle activities:

Making money

Saving money

Increasing awareness
Or put differently:

Creating value

Protecting previously captured value

Spreading awareness to get others to engage in the same enterprise (as either consume or producer)
A business is a sequence of activities. There are two main departments in a business: the producers (in our case coders) and the communicators (marketers who talk about the work of the coders).
Historically successful businesses have been ones where the developers and marketers have shown a mutual respect for one another’s profession. Interestingly everyone is a marketer even if they are a coder because there is no such thing as non-communication. Everyone is a representative of Feathercoin whether they like it or not if they are engaged in the business.
So you can get involved in the code by starting with a tiny step. And/or you can help by talking about Feathercoin to others and helping to develop awareness and understanding.

@chatig89 Can you change the title of this thread to “What will you do to help FTC come back?” so that it is less passive and more active?
-
I tell anyone who will listen about feathercoin and also those that don’t, you know the ones their eyes glaze over, that’s where the conversation ends with them but I will keep at it. I think that I have my boss convinced, he was the last person I thought would get a grasp, but he is definitely gaining an understanding :)

@ChrisJ: I totally agree with post #30. It is strange how few people want to spend their feathercoins to help build the coins value. There are a lot of coins out there that could be spent. I believe it can skyrocket in value like BTC eventually but it needs merchant adoption first. I am developing a site that will allow people to buy goods and services with FTC as well as LTC and BTC. At this point I haven’t had any hits on my previous attempts to accept FTC for transactions. I’ve sold lots of items for BTC on the other hand. I know the price is depressed at the moment compared to November, but someone has to spend in order to help show awareness for the market. I don’t want FTC to be another coin that is only used for arbitrage between exchanges. I would gladly spend my FTC hoard if there were merchants that had realistic prices and goods/services I can use.

Its called “Market-Manipulation” what happens right now. Its not that easy to break out. If we want to, we need more real-world-usage.Just my opinion.
I have a sugestion, make it easy for non techies like me to cut/paste code like we do with paypal to sell out products on word press. I have been strugling all day to find a way to take a payment on the site and I can’t figure it out. 99.99% of feathercoin users in the real world are going to be like me who need simple way to take payments online and we can’t figure it out, solve that and the price will go up! (even bit coin you have to use a middle man like bitpay, make it super simple like paypal does which I hate but i like ease of use)

In all honesty, the Feathercoin community is amazing. There are so many avenues of progress and development that are being pursued. I agree that we all should be doing everything possible to further Feathercoin promotion and adoption.
I am with netnerd (post 32) in that I tell anyone who will listen about Feathercoin. I have already had my first convert who has purchased Feathercoins and is using the Marketplace. As for me, I continually search the marketplace for goods that I need. In addition, I have been working on an aggregate website intended to be a resource for anyone looking for information on Feathercoin. The idea sprouted from conversations with my convert (mentioned above). He was looking for quick information due to limited time. I found myself typing up quick instructions for him and it all evolved from there.
Based on what I have seen since recently becoming a member of the forum, the other crypocurrencies better watch out – I have not seen another that has such a passionate community behind it. It’s only a matter of time before everyone is talking Feathercoin and saying “Bitcoin who?”.
Setting up payments through CoinPayments.net is simple with WordPress integration using WooCommerce. The end result is very similar to the way the PayPal integration works the IPN deals with everything in the background and updates order status for you.
If your getting stuck drop me a PM and we can have a chat about it over Skype or something similar and hopefully we can get you up and running within an hour.

Once the owners of btc-e get their 300 BTC buy finished…
Who else would have 300 BTC sitting right at .36?
Bet on a FTC/USD on BTC-E shortly after that?
-
Although as a disclaimer 5BTC of that order is mine. :)
i like the way you think. i wish someone would keep a buys & sells depthchart over time. that would be interesting to look at. the ftc for sale was over 5 million yesterday then 200k of that went to market sells. i wouldnt doubt if btc-e owned 10 million ftc. once they pump it up to .001 it might be 15-20 million
Disrupting communication is an integral part of market manipulation.
Perhaps having a meeting place when there’s attacks is in order.
BTCE wall is down to about 175 BTC - at this rate it’ll be gone Wed-Fri for sure.

Here’s hoping…
I’m still looking for another 300BTC to pop up lower.

oh enough going lower already!
