Optional note with a transaction
-
Hi all,
maybe i’m totally wrong but wouldn’t it be nice to add an optional note to a transaction?
If I’m right there is a public and a private key. In normal transactions the private is used by the sender to “sign” the transaction and the public is to prove the transaction is coming from the sender. So why not using the public key to encode a note for the transaction and let the reciever decode it with the private key?
Maybe I’m totally wrong - or it already implemented and i don’t find it - , so please don’t blame or flame me *duckandcover* ;)

You can embed public notes with transactions. Check out the silk road’s seized coins: https://blockchain.info/address/1FfmbHfnpaZjKFvyi1okTjJJusN455paPH
If you want to do more, you can use Link, which is suitable for embedding any sized arbitrary data AND associated meta-data which can be indexed and searched. The project could use your donations too, if you think it’s useful and want to help see it to completion.
