I’m guessing that at this rate, the next idea is going to be setting up a Federal Feathercoin Reserve. No thanks…
Totally. Then we can pin the price to another commodity!

Ive still noticed that pumps bring in new attention and new investors which cant really hurt the coin. Usually still leave coin stabilizing at new highs.
It’s the other way around: new attention and new investors bring pumps, which hurt the coin. The fact that the coin stabilizes at new highs is because it was undervalued to begin with, and whales are manipulating the price keeping it down until they’re ready to do the next pump, liquidate while the price is high, and buy back in when it crashes.
All this does is leave short-term investors reeling. The best movement is a slow, steady rise over time sustained by genuine adoption, not artificial manipulation. Spend your time getting people to buy the coin, and such measures become genuinely unnecessary.
Both ways around, really. For exped crypto users it will result as you described, but for newbie’s who are attracted by ‘‘free-fast-big-bucks’’ they will think ‘‘oh dear that FTC is going so high I need to get all of them!!!’’, like 80% in the BTC-e would do. :P
And yup, that’s not the way to create a reliable coin.
You don’t want stupid investors - Investors with a lack of understanding in a product can be detrimental, which is one of the main reasons Warren Buffet [one of the most amazing investing geniuses of our time] doesn’t split Berkshire Class A stock shares, to keep the “average” person with no understanding away. -
Kevlar is pumping FTC with Link - The Blockchain File Sharing Protocol

In stock markets, consorting to manipulate the price is illegal. it might not be with crypto currency, but it certainly is unethical. Also tags the currency as unstable, and attracts speculative and technical analysis investors which can create wild oscillations. Slow, long term growth us preferred, if you are in it for long term investment.
-
This isn’t a good idea at all and one I’m sure the majority of FTC community will agree that this is something we want to stay away from. Pump and dumps do nothing but prematurely inflate the price so people can dump their coins and panic sell whilst the dumpers flee with a bit of profit and buy back at a low. Sure, you could say the excitement surrounding the attention is good publicity, but it’s more than likely to have a lasting negative effect than a positive one overall, and I’d rather have a stable coin that can be used efficiently as a currency as opposed to one that has wild unstable mood swings and is abused by unscrupulous profiteers looking for a quick buck.

If everyone who owns ftc right now got involved in a pump and dump what kind of value could ftc reach?
That’s excellent, that’s exactly how I see it. A coin based solely on novelty or uniqueness won’t stick around IMO, but a coin with a real word purpose, like micro-payments could.

This coin needs something better then what we are all doing now to get it recognized or before long we won’t even have a FTC. It’s slowly dying already and if you cannot see that you need to open your eyes, community alone will not make FTC popular and outlast all these other coins promising bigger and better things.
Something needs to be done, I don’t have the answers but I know if things stay the way they are currently in a few months I’ll see you guys on another alt coins forum.

The price is already next to nothing and continuing to go down, if that isn’t dying I don’t know what is.
Feathercoin has been more stable than most of the coins out there. With a downwards trend it does look like it’s going to die since the price is still very low. But in this market the price would triple in a day time, it’s still a roller coaster really.

TheFallen please sell me your Feathercoins. Also, let us know if you find a better forum?
Also, I don’t agree with this but, you could get involved in such as that …

TheFallen please sell me your Feathercoins. Also, let us know if you find a better forum?
Lets not get angry folks this is a discussion forum I thought, you may not agree with what every one says but everyone has their own opinion and is free to speak their mind. With the price dropping and BTCe still not pairing FTC with USD It doesn’t look all that great, it’s definitely a aggressive market and we should be very aggressive in getting FTC more exposure. Also what would need to be done in order to get BTCe to pair FTC with USD? Maybe if enough people got in contact with them I don’t know.
FTC does have a awesome community for sure, but like others have said that’s not enough we all know that or should. That being said lots of people here have came up with some great ideas and developed some awesome things to help FTC, and I want to say Thank you to those folks. I’m sure there is a good bit of people who would agree with Thefallen but don’t have the Cojones to say it due to being scolded by other forum members. Anyways if you agree or don’t agree with thefallen, let’s remember everything should be open for discussion so long as there is no name calling LOL which I didn’t see in his post.
We all want FTC to do great, we are all on the same team!
Oh btw here is my FTC address 71Z9A9zpyiPc1QFH7c2rfwsLb5N3kLBJsg just in-case anyone wants to donate to my Friday nights beer fund :)
