Hey very cool, not far from me.

Is there a way we can associate the Forum Profile location field with the Google Maps tracker? And then just for privacy policy, possibly add a check box beside location field in the account settings to give us permission to use their location for the tracker. I think it’d be a lot easier than having to individually add locations, plus new users don’t have to come across the thread and actually post to show up in the map.
Thanks! And if that’s plausible then I’m assuming we can also add a check box in Account Creation where you choose merchant or user (and give people an option to change it as well in settings).
Good to meet you. Wheaton is a small place. See, we could have gotten a FTC meetup going.
Edit: Oh and added you to the map.

Perth, Western Australia.Seems to me respondents are weighted towards English speaking countries. Wonder if this has anything to do with this being an English language forum?? :-\ Just a thought…
Yes and hopefully we can change that now that we have become aware. We do have foreign language sections to the forum but the problem is they need moderation by someone who speaks that language.
The client is only in English too, right?
What I was surprised by was the lack of representation from Canada. There’s a great English speaking country which appears almost unreached… Australia too.
the funny part is, from Canada, you have 3 from Quebec. That is the province for the major part speaking French. lol
We are in the process of implementing something like this but not to the point of automation based on IP address because we are still testing the waters. It will be very much opt it but it will give us a better tool for discovering one another if that’s what community members want.
Anyone who knows how to code and particularly with Cookies and sessions could help us out this week if you are free?
