Just for fun - Under Attack

Development:
Advanced Checkpointing System
Has anyone consider how this will kill the coin? You’re adding the ability for some arbitrary authority to completely override the entire consensus of miners. What happens when that is compromised? The entire fortune rests in the hands of one guy who can at any moment decide he wants to double spend a full hour after his transaction is complete, and no amount of hashing power can stop him. And even when it’s used for ‘good, not evil’, it will STILL invalidate transactions when a forked chain is rolled back.
That’s just broken. Horribly.
Every other coin is implementing PoS to address this problem. Why? Because it provides the same level of protection WITHOUT centralization. Why doesn’t Feathercoin innovate and be the first one to produce a PoB scheme that makes the currency deflationary in nature? It’s basic economics and it’s a tragedy of the worst sort that is taking us away from a century of learning about how money works and sending us back to the dark ages of centralized banking.
Worst idea EVAR. Terribad.
Work is well underway in implementing the Advanced Checkpointing System, when it was first discussed why didn’t you argue against it then and there. We can’t just agree to do something, have it nearly done after investing time and money, scrub it and do something else.
I did. They were ignored, and it was decided that this was the way to go, despite the fact that it WILL kill the coin. And yes, we can actually. That’s exactly the option we have available to us: scrub it and do something else before the entire organization becomes synonymous with centralization, UNOCS Bridge + Feathercoin + ACS == Total centralization with multiple points of catastrophic failure. You think a 51% attack looks bad? Just you wait and see what a good hacker can do with an UNOCS Bridge server under his control!
-
So you want to scrub it, will you pay for that?
I have paid for it, and will continue to as the price bottoms out on the news that UNOCS Bridge still hasn’t launched. What do you think “Oh, and we crippled the client too so we could fork the chain any time we felt like it despite what miners are doing.” is going to do to the price?
-
Get a good hacker who makes UNOCS bulle proof
I’ll make my question easier to understand.
Have you paid for the development on UNOCS directly? As we all hold FTC, we are all on the same boat, I just don’t like when someone on my boat is getting sea sick.
It could ruin my suit. If the ride is getting too rough for you Kevlar you know what to do. -
So UNOCS is a replacement for feathercoin.com and ftc as a whole with a centralization where “any” coin can replace ftc. hmmm
Not sure how you grabbed that from the previous comment.
UNOCS does not replace anything. It is a partnership geared towards increasing the development speed of services that will allow all three coins to be adopted quicker then if they were on their own. Feathercoin is still Feathercoin, Phenixcoin is still Phenixcoin, and Worldcoin is still Worldcoin. Each coin has development happening outside of UNOCS.
So UNOCs is like the United Nations of Coins? We’re like the UK or EU?And feathercoin will be able to function “completely” separate of any software UNOCS develops? We will want to use their “solutions” and not have too?
I suppose that is what it takes, right? If you want something done right, better do you it yourself? Alright.

Rather unfortunately, this topic has turned into a personal fist match. I may open it after cleaning it up - or feel free to start another thread without personal attacks.
You are 100% right. If we don’t like something then we can choose not to be apart of it.
Ok. Thank you for clarifying and alleviating a worry.

Poor old Lyno shows off his wares and it’s turned into a bunfight that’s completely OT.
Please keep it on topic or start a new thread.

'Lol… no problem. I have the strange talent to accidentally trigger quarrel. Wonder what will happen if i really come up with a good “fireproof Justabitoftime” render. World War III maybe? ;D
I added a page for my crypto coin renders (partly NSFW)
