Any chance to see FTC @ 0.005 again?

I mined FTC early on, when it was profitable. At this point, I’m not sure what its future holds. Part of Feathercoin’s issue, is it came out along with a whole host of fairly worthless crypto-currency coins. The ‘market’ is saturated with all these new currencies and everyone is kind of waiting to see which one will actually gain traction as a useful method of exchange. For now, the only two currencies I see gaining real traction are Bitcoin and Litecoin. My 2 cents… err, satoshis :)
Great points, the coins that will stand out are the ones that break out of the speculation phase. The problem with Feathercoin is it’s being held to the same adoption expectation of much more mature coins such as Bitcoin and Litecoin. Take a look at Litecoin’s adoption weeks into it’s launch, Feather coin is doing fine.
There’s quite a few of us spending our time developing relationships with companies outside of the crypto community. We’ll see how it pans out, however, I’m not the least bit concerned personally.
Yea I mean we’ll be here for years right? Haha, a few weeks, even months aren’t too big of a deal.

^You can’t just copy/paste a currency and think it’s going to be successful.
I know you from the BitcoinTalk forums. While I’m certainly open to different ideas concerning Feathercoin, this won’t turn into the same Feathercoin bashing cesspool I’ve seen you involved with in the past. This forum is dedicated to the growth of Feathercoin not the junior high nonsense sup bro you mad nonsense exhibited on other boards. I have zero tolerance for that mentality.
Feel free to look around and welcome to the forum.
I’m a stock broker of 8 years, I have traded fiat for years and my company/family predicted the crash. I’m not just a FUD, I recognize each new currency for what it is. I have adopted many of the alt currencies. I will admit I do not like Feathercoin for the sole reason it added nothing to the overall security or code of Crypto currency. You may disagree with me but it is fairly clear to me that the markets have spoken. I post in every currency forum and I am real with every single one. Sometimes I am wrong and sometimes I am right, mostly I am right.
Fair enough, I just never understood why people spend time on forums just to talk about how they don’t support it. Maybe it’s just me, but life is so short, it seems counter productive.
My comments are my own, and not from the developer or the community. As a stock broker, you should no better. The real money is outside the pump and dump mentality that some of the younger traders are pushing. The successful coins will be the ones that are able to break away from the sup bro market and attract the casual user that wants to move money without any knowledge of the technical backend. My focus is entirely on the casual market.
Feathercoin has a long way to go, however, to pretend there isn’t a community behind it disingenuous. Being held to the same standards as Bitcoin and Litecoin this early in it’s launch isn’t a correct comparison. We’re a new coin, we’re starting to organize in a way other alt currencies simply haven’t been able to do successfully. The coin is doing fine, it’ll continue to grow.
Since we’re tossing around credentials, here’s mine. As a CIO for two different educational institutions over the last 10 years, I’ve had to manage large scale projects with impossible deadlines. To be direct, I’m not too concerned with the challenges ahead with Feathercoin. We have the right developer, the right community and continuing to organize better each day. I’m spending every waking minute away from work on this project. I believe in my ability, I believe in those that are behind the coin. I could be wrong, I doubt it in this case.

Am I glad to have picked Feathercoin with you here justabit ;D

I do see it hitting 0.005 again and even surpassing that.

when market clears of CNC + a buch of other no support Alt-coins, feathercoin will pick up. Just hold to your coins and be patient.
fast adoption of FTC and other coins brought some instabillity, but he smoke will clear out.
Moreover you should talk about your confidence in FTC to other Cryptocoiners, whereever you may find them (forums etc).

Sure the price will go up again. It will go up faster if we all build applications and services that create a demand for feathercoin
Absolutely. I’m heading up the merchant services push right now, I could sure use people doing the same for applications. I just don’t have the resources to work on both sides.
-
Im hoping it will,
But will take time, that depends on whether it will be dropped from btce before that point -
This is exactly what is needed! We will see this coin increase in value as it becomes more accepted as a currency.
I’m not too worried about BTC-e… in fact, we retained more value before the jump. Once this coin seems as easy and friendly to use as other every day options, then we’ll get some attention. There’s a lot to be proud of for such a young coin… you guys will make the difference.
I’ll sidestep the childish jokes that you walked directly into with the highlighted statement…for now ;)
I would like to just point out that your statement right there should be enough to boost anyone’s confidence in Feathercoin’s future. The number one hurdle every crypto currency faces right this very minute is the simple fact that it’s all still WAY too complicated for the average [s]simplet[/s]…err…citizen.
Not even the great and mighty Bitcoin community has done near enough to fulfill the crypto’s destiny as a full-fledged, world-wide accepted currency. The greatest thing keeping people like my own mother or your aunt Bessie from jumping on board with this currency ideal is that it’s still all much too technical for most folks to understand. What is not understood is feared, by most anyway.
I’m not saying that it’s anyone’s responsibility to sit down with their family elders to explain the technicals of crypto-currency…that would prove futile and result in much frustration and confusion by all parties involved. What I am saying is that JustABitOfTime seems to “get it” as much as or more so than most anyone I’ve heard from in any crypto community. At least half of all efforts should be going toward making crypto’s front-end so simple that a 3 year old and a 95 year old can equally navigate it…along with everyone in between.
It’s the front-end of any cryptocurrency that will ultimately decide it’s fate and future. Skype, Google, Facebook and Pinterest would be nothing but made-up, silly gobbelty-gook words today if not for the tremendous amount of work that’s been put into hiding the blood and guts of those services. When banking, buying, spending, receiving and acquiring crypto is finally made as user friendly and simple as tapping a “Share” button…well…that’s when crypto will really be on the path to reaching it’s full potential. Fully understanding it is not the least bit important. All that matters is whether or not “Great-Auntie Martha” can USE it.
Sorry for the long reply (as always), but this is a subject I’ve been trying to stress from my first day in the crypto world. It will never, ever be anything more than a niche product or fast-burning fad until every last person on Earth is able to use it every single day without having to see or think about what’s going on inside the “machine”. I really feel a huge boost of confidence for Feathercoin just knowing that the core development team not only understands the greatest challenge on the road ahead, but is taking on that challenge immediately, from square one. ;D
So true, i feel most people here are looking at the same direction, getting this currency to the ‘normal’ man. It should be as simple as paying with credit-card / paypal / etc. We do have a long way to go, but as we are all on the same path we are heading to the right direction together!
-
nice to see its on the rise, hopefully its not another pump and dump
-
That’s what I’ve thought to myself Digital… I mean all the people at Bitcointalk are so caught up in “OMG MY PANTIES IN A KNOT! THEY’RE CLONES!”
But the thing is, people want cryptos to be accepted by EVERYONE. But for that to happen, that means the majority of users will never know the slightest bit of how a crypto even works. So then, what does it matter if it’s a clone? Will the average person care? Could you prove that to the average person? Maybe, but it wouldn’t be near enough persuasion to convert them from what they used originally.
Hopefully we’ll get that part of it right, and all the critics can just have fun jumping from person to person complaining it’s a clone. To the person who uses Feathercoin as their first crypto, all the other coins are “clones”.
-
Exactly, the community gets it. While people are messing around trying to pump/dump different alt coins, this team is building a real foundation for mainstream adoption.
-
ya… i was one of these BIG Feathercoin buyers when it appeared on BTC-e, i expected to see +0.007 so most of coins i bought at 0.0048, so what you guys think? possible to see FTC @ 0.005 someday again?
I guess those days might return soon ;)
