[ANN] Feathercoin wallet update - QR code import feature
-
The Feathercoin client for Windows now has the ability to import addresses in from QR code. Please see the screenshots below to see how it is used. This version with the QR import feature is now available from the front of site for Windows only at the minute, we will be adding other platforms soon. This version is labelled feathercoin-0.8.6.2-beta-qt in the About page.
Download Feathercoin for Windows with the QR import feature
Instructions
Open up the client, go to the receive tab and press the Import QR button.
This open up the QR import screen capture window, move it over a QR code and click the snap button. The client may time out a bit while it scans the blockchain for the key. The address does not show up immediately.
You can create QR codes to test this on by going to the following site to create a private key.
http://www.featheraddress.org/
Which you can then put into a QR code using the following website.
Here is a QR code I create which you can try on this feature.

What’s the road map / general status on porting the QR code import feature to Linux version or Feathercoin mobile wallet?
The mobile wallet already has an import QR function using the build in camera, so nothing is planned here, as it is easy to take a picture of the qr code and import it.
For the Linux versions, we need to backport to QT4 and then we can implement the feature.
