I've got an album release coming up and might use feathercoin as a means of buying, how to start?

Dear Feathercoin community,
I am relatively new on these forums having recently said hi in the associated section of the FC forums. However I’ve been looking around and reading all of the wonderful things this community has been doing in getting feathercoin on the map. I’ve started mining feathercoin about 5 months ago, because I have always been intrigued by the whole crypto currency thing. On top of that I truly believe that it can replace the use of money as it is now.
Now on to the topic, I’ve been working on a album in my free time. I’ve been recording, composing and mixing everything from the past two years and haven’t resorted to help from the outside. The project was called About Bread with a LP called It’s Time To Leave The Planet. It’s not meant to be spiritual by any means, I love making music and love creating sounds and using words that sound cool without paying too much attention to the meaning of lyrics…
In short, it’s finished and pretty awesome. I am currently awaiting distribution and had some press reactions to my first EP: Circles. Since I have been idling on these forums for quite some time I was wondering if I could somehow use feathercoins to reach more people and sell my music in more places than the usual itunes, spotify combo…
Since I don’t have any ideas on how this could work, (I’m guessing, the marketplace) I decided to start a topic on the matter and take the chance to at least send you to my communication channels where you can listen to a few tracks awaiting wider distribution. Digital distribution through the feathercoin website would be pretty awesome…
Take a listen, leave a comment and if there is anything I can do to help this community further along (with my music) I will do so.

I would buy your album for Ftc, you could definately use the feathercoinmarket for this as well as just putting your public key in your signature (for donations).

Thanks a lot for the reply and ideas, Vindicus.
I’ll put some time in making my profile up to date as soon as possible. That’ll be a good start.

Just had a listen to a couple of your track samples and they are pretty cool.
I think if you are wanting to maximize your potential sales I think the market may be a good start as its simple and there is already a user base.
But it may be worth having other retail streams going forward and the ability to offer downloads only to paying customers etc paying via a multitude of crypto coins.
Im all for FTC but it may be worth supporting BTC and LTC aswell.

You are really a cool guy! Don’t forget to post the ftc logo on it. Hope the new ftc wallet can make these things more easy

I was pondering this question last night and came up with an idea. A feathercoin music label/website. Where musicans could get a payout just for putting their music up there (signing bonus) as well as a majority of the sales. A direct donate (public key) would be associated with each musician as well. The price for each song would be set by the musician, they could allow people to stream or download, giving the artist much more control over the day to day sales of their product. What do you all think? Sorry for hijacking this topic

Hijack all you want, I love the idea and I think in the end the thread was meant to cook up a few ideas to get more exposure (both for me as for feathercoin), I’d love to help with this however I can!
A feathercoin label would be a kick-ass feature for a coin, maybe you could start working with distributors like reverbnation or cd-baby whenever we get further along this idea. A lot of musicians are looking for ways to gain more fans, Money isn’t always important but getting heard is a lot more important to most musicians, if we can sell the idea by saying that we ,as a community, will share, tweet and do whatever social stuff is necessary to get them heard and out into the open.

So I just reserved the email: [email protected]
I will talk to my Computer Science friend and see if we can put a test site up in the next few weeks. It might take awhile as both of us will be starting a new round of classes next monday, but I am confident that this can work -

If you need any help with this. I’ve ran for the last couple of years a ‘Not for profit’ independent record label selling physical products at cost price. The CD is licensed under creative commons and the music is encouraged to be shared. I enjoy pissing in to the wind of convention.

Pretty awesome idea and concept, I would definitely use This service as a musician! Give me a ting of you need testing!

The feathercoin market is there. You could even sell downloads from there.
Be confident in the fact that your music will always be worth what it’s worth in fiat due to the FTC to fiat price widget.I must relist my bands records on there again come to think of it, never got a fucking peep last time round.

I think you will have to just give it time. The marketplace is still in its infancy but with more users and more things to buy it will grow. Its a little chicken and egg, without anything to buy sellers are less interested and without and buyers sellers are less interested.

The album is available on Feathercoin marketplace:

Since I don’t have the option to sell my music digitally on the marketplace I will be sending out download links to whoever buys it.
I think we can promote this kind of thing quite a bit as a viable use of the Feathercoin currency. If anyone would be so kind to join and share my facebook page/album links it would be much appreciated.
Regards.
