Feathercoin wikipedia article under threat
-
Hi,
I noticed this when surfing on web. It seems there are some people who are not happy with Feathercoin. FTC wikipedia page is under consideration to be removed.
Maybe community’s support can prevent this to happen :)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feathercoin

This article is being considered for deletion in accordance with Wikipedia’s deletion policy.
Please share your thoughts on the matter at this article’s entry on the Articles for deletion page.
Feel free to edit the article, but the article must not be blanked, and this notice must not be removed, until the discussion is closed. For more information, particularly on merging or moving the article during the discussion, read the Guide to deletion.

EDIT:
Please note that in just rushing to vote (like I did :-[) is not the best solution for this. For someone attending, the better way is to try to offer solutions and improvements for issues that are reason for this remove nomination.
Articles may survive the deletion process for several reasons:- A consensus of editors believe the article is encyclopedic.
- The article improves to encyclopedic standards while the discussion is underway.
- No consensus emerges, in which case the article stays.

Anoncoin already deleted, dogecoin, primecoin, feathercoin, novacoin, yacoin are about to be deleted from wikipedia
Litecoin, Zerocoin, Namecoin looks normal.
-
All the coin articles nominated for deletion, except for possibly Novacoin, look like they are on track for either ‘keep’, or ‘no consensus’ which defaults to keep. This is the second attempt at deleting the FTC article.
-
and just votes with strong keep :P

How to vote to keep the article? I couldn’t find the way to join the discussion on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Feathercoin_(2nd_nomination) :o

How can we help ?
Well… ::)
In Wikipedia, everything is so easy…
There is an edit button at the top of the page. Press it add your comments at the end in Wiki formatting language and press save ;)
I think, one way to support the article could be to supply a list of real life companies -no web shops- acctepting FTC and a second list with non feathercoin related web shops accepting FTC.
If you answer, it also would be good, if you can provide some reference to printed articles and of course you should sign your message with a meaningful signature/email. Otherwise your comment may be deleted.
Another way, of course is to improve the quality of the article by adding references.
They hardly will delete an article that is modified and improved frequently

Sorry, didn’t notice this, posted my own entry.
Hey that’s ok man. I repped you for your diligence. It was hugely appreciated.
I’m blown away… I don’t have time right now. I need to pass out for work tomorrow.
Good luck everyone…
They are asking for discussion. Please don’t spam them with pointless comments… It will be ignored.
If anyone has edited a wiki entry in the past, I encourage you to put forward your argument.
If you came here because someone asked you to, or you read a message on another website, please note that this is not a majority vote, but instead a discussion among Wikipedia contributors. Wikipedia has policies and guidelines regarding the encyclopedia’s content, and consensus (agreement) is gauged based on the merits of the arguments, not by counting votes. However, you are invited to participate and your opinion is welcome. Remember to assume good faith on the part of others and to sign your posts on this page by adding ~~~~ at the end.
I won’t copy and paste the contents. It’s too large and would be updated before many even see this post.
Remember, we need references that are not news articles etc. I’m still not 100% sure why some feel they can justify the deletion.

Surprised that it is even being considered for deletion. Feathercoin is one of the more popular cryptos. Going to help out right now.

Maybe we should be asking “who is asking for the deletion and what do they have to gain by it?” How does the wiki deletion process work? There are many parties in the world who want to see this whole experiment fail and will use any approach possible. Many of them have very deep pockets, but here is what is different about the experiment, it is ours. By us, for us, with us, who ever we all are. We make it, we use it, we value it, we exchange it between ourselves, it is ours. If I transact with any of you using FTC I am apart of the experiment. We are the experiment, vote with your choice to use FTC as “the medium” when ever you can to the exclusion of USD or EURO or YEN or whatever paper debt based notes they hand out as “money” in your neighborhood. If it works, it keeps working and grows. If not, wiki article won’t really matter.
peace,
~//~
