Introduction of the ABIS protocol - your thoughts please
-
Hello,
The following is a proposed concept for a protocol that could help with the development of a new public good and foster decentralization of a giving economy.
It’s intended primarily for any and all decentralized currency systems, but as you will see upon reading the github, the concept has some broader implications as well. Looking forward to your thoughts on this.
So far it’s been sent to various mailing lists: unsystem, bitcoin development, etc… It’s also been posted on bitcoin stack exchange and on the quarkcoin forum, as well as here on the feathercoin forum, and is about to be posted at the litecoin forum.
With that said, here it is… -drumroll-

“a conceptual protocol to enable decentralization”
It is hard to understand, add some detail …
you need to read …
Theory of maintenance action
System
Problem Identified with system
Diagnose effect of problem and priority over other problems (cost analysis)
Diagnose Cause of problem - e.g. FMECASelect maintenance action on probability of success of fixing CAUSE of failure
- Maintenance action based on effectiveness of maintenance action (e.g. price effectiveness)
Preventative Maintenance.
CBM (condition based maintenance)
Identify monitorable symptom and monitor
Planned action,
(eg update the software yearly.)
Design out Only Design Out, if it is last desperate action, because of Design outs High cost and risk of consequential failure (always has Bugs)Ref.

Am I missing something here this protocol is just the ability to give donations when sending a transaction.
Thats all well and good but I think having a protocol is a little overboard.
Maybe I’m just oversimplifying this but its a “nice to have” as far as I’m concerned as we can already send donations to anyone we please.
If a company wanted to say give 1% of all profits to a charity this is also possible I don’t think this is needed at this time. -
This was tried with Devcoin, and it failed miserably. I’d be interested to know how you plan on addressing those problems.
