      This would be a great way to make it easy to get into FTC, especially in countries like the UK where it is extremely difficult to buy FTC with fiat.

        Someone could just buy up a load of Gift Cards and sell them on the market place, I would be happy to help promote. Also accumulating Feathercoins right now would be quite an investment in the long run so anyone with the courage to take that position could step up right now?

          I have thought about setting something like this up as well selling FTC via PayPal etc. The main issue I have found to setting this up is the fact that the customer can claim that the coins were never received and the payment processor e.g. PayPal have adopted a stance to take the customers side and the money is refunded. its not so easy to do with the coins as the transaction is a one way street so the seller loses out.

          Im sure there is way around this. bitilicious for instance asks you to do a bank transfer into their account and (manually?) send the coins to you or at least make them available to your online version of a wallet on there site which can be moved out into your own wallet. Or local bitcoin seem to take the view that you need to find someone personally and transfer the coins to them for cash in hand or bank transfer or pingit.

          I think there must be a better way to do this which keeps the customer and the seller safe but makes it very simple to buy coins for cash.

              #2 - Ideas such as the gift cards (I’ve brought up a similar idea in the past) allowing people to spend their coins is a great step. Without a Bitinstant, ALL alts will have difficulty in this department

                    Ah right I like that idea. Essentially your just sending a giftcard containing a password to an account/funds held with an escrow. That’s really nifty.

                          People get edgy when their investments are bottoming out, I get it. Ask how much it cost to pay for the programming for the checkpointing and how much I contributed. Ask how much I sent over for the 33000 fork or the contests or the countless giveaways. Ask ChrisJ on all the contacts I sent his way when he took the helm of Feather. I spent my time and paid my dues here, period.

                          Take shots all you want, it doesn’t move the price of this coin. You have a strong community under ChrisJ, however, without the innovation, I think you’re in for a fight for slot #2. Other communities are getting organized, it’s not April anymore.

                          I’ll keep a few thousand just in case FTC gets on Gox. Like I said, I lost some PXC and WDC coming down. I wish I made a better investment, but that money is gone. Innovation, multiple 51% attacks and utility are the reason Feathercoin drops, not me. You have a solid community that I respect, I wish everyone the best of luck. Even if the price doesn’t move much in the future, your voice is being heard loud and clear!

                              You tied up FTC with a scam coin, period.
                              It is kind of hard to swallow.
                              But even harder to swallow is your behaviour (“I did so much good before so we can pretend UNOCS never happend…”)

                              You are lucky that people cant give negative reputation points here…

                                I can see there is a lot of bad blood between people after what happened but seeing as we are now in a different position maybe we just leave the past as the past and move on. I don’t think anyone really benefited from what happened. And I know there have been many hours spent by lots of you guys getting things to where we are. I think these efforts should be recognised and are not nullified by recent events.

                                    The question was a simple one, with your insider information on the whole BS surrounding UNCONS how much did you dump all coins involved at? A follow up question would be how much did you profit but I doubt anyone will ever get an honest answer from you.
                                    A nice attempt at deflection with your reply, I will give you that.

                                        I honestly find it odd that Justatbit not two weeks before he officially pulled out of FTC community that he was saying things in the forum shout box like “I’m so glad I’m invested in FTC.” …then went on to imply that he would be heavily invested in it in the months to come, just to sell out and leave.

                                        I dont know his intentions but his interview at the conference in NY he mispoke about some of the facts regarding the FTC community.

                                        UNOCS did not help his rep either as he had vouched for them as well as PXC and WDC which are now in the toilet concerning price.

                                          Not forgetting the 5 figures he personally invested and how he would hate to not be invested in any of the coins in 3 months time… only to dump on the entire community and announce he did so after the shit hit the fan. I would bet he personally profited from the knowledge he had of UNOCS and it’s failure.

                                            While I was as hacked off as everybody else by the Jabot/wesphily hypefest/pump and dump, and would be very wary of trusting anything he said again, the rehashing of the subject and the speculation on how much he (they) made from it is not helpful.

                                            Jabot put a lot of work into FTC initially, whatever his motives, and certainly it can be argued that a great deal of it was good, in developing awareness of FTC and getting it’s name out there. I don’t agree with certain aspects of what he did, and feel as let down as many others, but the facts are that we have built on the foundation laid down while he was in charge of the community efforts.

                                            I feel that we have now grown beyond the point he took us to, and we have had some important changes in transparency and working together, which will only benefit us into the future. Focusing on the past does nothing to help us in this goal. I suggest we draw a line under the hype and pumping and failed promises and lies and look to the future, having learned from the past.

                                            That is not to say I do not think Jabot should be challenged when he comes here saying there is no innovation in FTC at the moment. He is wrong on this score and the hard work currently being done by the community as well as the strong team of co-operating devs has already started paying off, and will continue to do so into the future.

                                            I say forget those who are irrelevant to our continued success and lets not dwell on them or the dark aspects of their legacy.
