FTC/USD on BTC-e a possibility?

With the the price of BTC going to the dumps it’s killing the value of FTC. We need an FTC/USD… i think… Granted it may dilute the volumes but we’re 2 hops from the real world fiat at present.People often only seem to look at the FTC/BTC (0.0008) price to gauge if it’s going up or down but the reality is that we could be at 0.004 and if BTC is down we’re still worth very little.
Any thoughts? Anyone got a contact on the inside? ;)
I’m all for removing the tether between ftc and btc. It always made sense to me to display rate in terms of fiat. Ltc got it done, do why not ftc?

I really really really want to see that happen. I don’t like being tied to BTC at all.
-
I really really really want - write to btc-e … tell em about the positive aspects of adding ftc/usd.
Make a online petitioe pro ftc/usd
Mobilize as many as you can to write btc-e
…Good luck, u can count on me
In respect to btc-e, it can be difficult getting USD in. So btc to ftc does make sense, but we want to move away from being tied to btc. I think getting ftc on other exchanges (only know of btc-e and vircurex) will definitely help this

I’ll have a word with Justabit/Wesphilly and see what they think. Maybe we can get it on the activism’s.
-
Just as a side note you can already do FTC/USD on vircurex, however it is very low volume at the moment. We could all ditch BTC-e if they don’t offer it.
-
There is a major push planned ** after ** one our new systems comes online. I’ll make sure Wesphily sets up an Activism item to get it handled.

What can i say except… ;D

TTT
Just thought this would be a good topic to stay active, whether on btc-e or other exchanges.

FTC generally has the third highest trade volume on btc-e, it would be great to align it to a fiat currency, as it has shown its independence in trade.
How can we as a group contact btc-e and ask for this to be implemented, or do we need to reach a higher trading level?
I sent a mail to BTC-e a while regarding the possibility of FTC/USD and received a very detailed and enlightening response from them which i have copied below. It’s a long read but well worth the time i feel…

So as you can see it’s a very complex issue. ;D

I think you have to see it from their point of view.
If we get crap like we did last week and often, it would be more of a risk to exchange cash for FTC.
I think getting advance check pointing in and UNOCS running smooth… then it will be easier to achieve.
-
I’m all for ftc/usd but I don’t think any major exchange like gox or btc-e will consider it unless we at least live past 6 months with a good sustained hash rate. We were very lucky to get ftc onto BTC-e in the first place. Advance checkpointing will help alleviate some of the fears but 6 months of plugging along and taking the hits will be the deciding factor.

Thanks Nutnut for sending that.
So we need to be trading longer and at a higher level, which is fair enough.
