Buy Feathercoin by Paypal - Multi Currency Exchange Pilot
-
Would anyone be interested in buying FTC for their local currency using either Paypal/Moneybookers etc? If so please register your interest here. Also tell me what you would be prepared to pay over the BTCe average, a fee that you think would be reasonable.
I am looking in to ways of making this as efficient as possible but I want to get a sense of how much demand there is first.
I am thinking this would be most suitable for people who are finding it difficult to get money in to the exchanges.
This would be a dirty workaround before the holy grail OT/Bitmessage which you can register your vote for here: http://feedback.feathercoin.com/forums/208241-general/suggestions/3999931-implement-the-holy-grail-ot-bitmessage-
Thanks.

I’m interested, only concerns is fees and what it ends up costing in the end.
In Canada, its a pain to get funds into a exchange. Had to visit a bank in person. -
hi, it is very interesting …
-
I’m very interested chrisj
Being in Australia it very difficult to get our currency converted into any type of crypto without paying insane fees. In fact the only way I have found is ebay or physically going into a bank. Ebay prices are almost double the value of the coin and the bank isn’t practical for people who work full time and want to convert currency on a regular basis.
I Don’t know what would be a fair fee to charge. I guess you would need to determine that based on the amount of work/cost for you to convert our currency.

I’d be very interested also, as I think most UK based users would. How would you get around the chargeback risk?
I would have to take the risk, but this community is self selected bunch of motivated and kind people. I think it would be necessary to show that you had been involved in the forum, I would have to look at people’s profiles and make a judgement.
Ok, that sounds fair enough, I guess we’d need to make it clear that this is not a public exchange then. Sounds good, count me in.

You could limit the initial trades to small(ish) amounts until a “trust ratio” is built up. That would lessen the risk initially as well.

We really need to get that ridiculous 2m FTC off of BTCe and down to a more respectable level. 2m divided by a 1000 members in this forum is only 2000FTC or $193 each, which is not horrendous amount.
Bear in mind that for some it is…
I only have about 550FTC and am not in a position to spend very much on buying more, so it should cater for smaller investors who want to buy between $10 and $50 worth of FTC, as well as those who can spend more, IMHO of course. -
Oh hear hear, I totally agree. But put together I am hoping we can make a bit of a dent. Also my maths was wrong I realised because only the first few BTC worth of FTC would be at the current price of 0.00075 after that the price would go up, so in a way it’s just as well that these are only small payments. In order to reduce costs I might buy up a few BTC worth in one go to save on fees. The only other thing we have to sort out is the hashrate so I am going to head over to the mining forum now and find out what it would take to get it up to a level where a transaction can take inside of an hour.

I was actually going to make a similar post 8) I was talking recently with iawgoM about the same thing. Sorry to take over your thread here chrisj but I would like to offer the same service but as of today.
What would happen if you are interested:
You send money to my PayPal (e-mail will be given after PM) I exchange what ever currency you sent to GBP at PayPal conversion rates and also paying the PayPal transaction fee (from your account to mine). After that I withdraw the GBP to my bank account to protect myself from scammers trying to charge back the funds and finally buy BTC on bitbargain.co.uk using my debit card. Then simply send you the BTC or if you want FTC exchanged on the BTC-e exchange. I will charge a fee of 2% of the final BTC or FTC.
Example:
You send 75 USD to my PayPal which is just under £50 going by the Google exchange, so in my PayPal I will see around £45 after all the fees. I then take that to my bank account which is usually up to 3h. Next on bitbargain.co.uk I select the best deal and get the BTC within 15 minutes going by today’s rate it’s £89.30 per whole Bitcoin so I can get 0.504 BTC for £45. I then either give you 98% of the BTC which in this example would be 0.494 or withdraw to my BTC-e and buy equivalent of Feathercoins at the current rate and then transfer 98% to you.
If interested please PM me.
No not at all please go ahead. I love how that just happened. I was going to suggest setting up an IRC/Skype and then have a live Gdoc with prices updated a few times a day? Let me know if you wanna collaborate. More liquidity the better.
