VALUE - Here's what I understand

Honestly it just feels like a pump and dump at the min things should change for the better, even BTC was pumped and dumped at the start and eventually started gaining price on the back of each cycle.Feathercoin may be just the same
Following explains it
- Mr A buys FTC heavily over a period of days/weeks
- The traders get fever and start buying
- Mr A stops buying
- traders in fever continue buying pushing prices to new highs
- Mr A starts selling to masses at new high making profit
- traders run out of cash/fever prices start to fall.
- Mr A continues selling pushing prices lower
traders get fever and start selling - Mr A stops selling
- traders in fever continue selling pushing prices to new lows
- Mr A starts buying from masses at new low making profit
- return to 1
We will see price going back to 0.00145-0.00165 within the next week or 2,
FTC has been manipulated by a bot. Yesterday Litepresence (on BTCe Trollbox, smart guy) said it looked like a leveraged buy out. Basically it was driving the price down with fake walls on both sides then buying up coins and then sliding it down again. I was watching it and if you compare the price actions, order book and real volume here https://btc.penek.org/ you can see that the orders do not match the volume after the fact.
What annoys me is that the person with this bot is probably frequenting the communities here and on BTCe Trollbox. I think the best way to stop this malignancy is to put Feathercoin in to more hands and build a trust network around it like Bitcoin had. Let’s show the community how we are different.
And to all the haters we say, if you don’t like it don’t short it, join in and DO something about it.
Peace out :D

What you state about the bot is absolutely true and plainly obvious to anyone if they care to look, you can basically set your watch by the dumps, you can also set your buy in price by them too.
I also feel someone with a huge amount of BTC is trying to undermine FTC value and create panic, by selling at a slight loss, as they know they will be able to pump it back and earn twice their loss as profit given time. -
bot or no bot the issue is that there is about a million coins too many floating around changing hands between short term sellers. Unless someone wants to make a 1000BTC order to mop up some of these coins then value is kinda stagnated. Of course if people see some other reason to hold a bit longer then it might help but ultimately the holders of these coins are simply looking to sell.

thoughts just about my situation.
i bought big amount of FTC but only for fill hot wallet on my pool. Its needed it because i use PPS model and always need liquid assets in pool wallet for instant payment to pps users. But for now i didnt see any other necessary for having FTC in my pocket.
Just understand, i beleive in this fork, otherwise do not bother with the stub to support the my pool for ftc,
even more, I spend a lot of time to do the normal pool, different from thousands of other based on MMCFE and will give my new
site in few days for public. For now its not gived me any profit, but i hope in future FTC will take off.
So, for today, FTC need to come into any real world economic relationship.
I i think some in-game purchases will be best for now. But i have no idea how to promote this idea to life.PS, sorry for my english, its not my primary language :)
To stop people from selling low we would need to educate them. That could be a huge undertaking but I can do my best in the BTCe Trollbox. I noticed someone there just now almost acting as an FTC Ticker updating on the latest stats. That could keep Feathercoin top of mind which is a strong strategy in Brand Positioning.
We need to be open to persuasion when people come at us with criticisms. Unless it is a blatant troll which we should correct as swiftly as possible if someone has a legitimate concern then we should invite them here with a direct link to Newbie forum and say hey, “raise it here we would love to hear your views”.
Once people are here we can get people invested for the long term.
I agree! But people get fearful, it’s a natural counter-instinct when one is originally greedy :) IE: they only buy high because they think it is going to moon, they then sell low because they realise it wasn’t and try to cut their losses, if they were not greedy they would be buying low and holding, yes I trade, but I hold more offline than I ever do trade. Once people stop being greedy and the tree is fully shook of weak hands and bad apples, then the price will rise and it could rise quite rapidly too, faster than we have seen in recent pumps, which will leave quite a few greedy folk caught with their pants well and truly around their ankles :D
Just watching now, we have people dumping at 0.00093 while everything is being bought up to 0.00103… :o

If you’ve trusted the community this far, I’m asking you go a little further down this road with me. Now we’re moving into Phase 2, I’m dedicating these hours moving forward:
M-Th 7a-10a, 9p - 11p (20 hrs)
F-Su (10 hrs)30 hours each week is Feathercoin. I sold quite a bit of Litecoin last night for FTC… I’m burning my bridges behind me so I have no choice but to help make this coin a success. I take the time and investment each of you make into the coin to heart.
Love the tree analogy. Not sure people will ever stop being greedy but I am encouraged by the idea that this is a selection process and only the brave will survive; which is exactly what this coin needs.

I’ll say it again. More people outside of the “mining” community/speculators need to have feathercoins. The only way is to find a way to literally give it to them. thus my suggestion on a simple donation method for bloggers an URI to bring up the client for a simple transfer. Once a bunch of bloggers have maybe 10 to 40 ftc they’ll want to spend on something just because they have it. That’s when the market place will most likely increase with services. A lot of people here are probably US based. Until the mtgox dhs issue gets settled we should look at Europe, SA, and Oceania areas/bloggers
my limited 2 cents

The problem with FTC are People don´t care about anything, many Young “so called Traders” are after fast profits. This is Happening right now again, it´s going way down, and Panic sells, started again. The Problem is after that trollbox, is flooded with People blame Ftc for theire loos and stop trading with ftc, but it´s theire fault alone, trading without any knowledge, you can´t loose Money, unless the coin die´s. I belive in this coin so i hold agood amount and bought what i can.
Btw BTC-E is not a good way to trade, to much talking, to less acting, Trollbox sucks hard, and there are People, that belive in some trolls, I tell you without that box, it wouldn´t hace so many Panic sells. Buy what you can and hold it!
Edit: 400.000 coins @ 0.00087 and 0.00088 beening for sale, this Needs to be stoped…

it just dropped below 0.0008
Totally agree, most of these cheap sells must of been bought above 0.00100… Why sell at such a loss when you could of sold @ 0.00100 and probably will be able to again by Monday? It just hit 0.0093 again amongst this madness!
I’m not complaining though as I’m loving all of these silly cheap coins :D -
Yes, its a classic pump/dump going on. You should have seen sell orders in chunk of almost 210k which is designed to scare people and force them to sell.
Anyways, good for me. I was pleasantly surprised when my buy order at 0.0007 got triggered. I actually bought at bit more at 0.0008 purely to sell when the price goes up. The crash has increased my FTCs by almost 70 :)

Changing the hearts and minds of day traders is something I’m not interested in doing personally. We need to really focus moving past this community and break into new markets. When we get the volume where it needs to be, it’ll be much harder to manipulate the price.
I didn’t know day traders had hearts? It’s all about the percentage. Yes it’s harsh but true… Services are easier to purchase with an unknown thing then a physical object. I’d suggest there first.
