feathercoin-qt needs an import backed up encrypted wallet feature.

Ah indeed, so the users don’t have to go themselves to the hidden AppData folder. -

I want to be able to import my backed up encrypted keys from my android feathercoin app.
I have been meaning to look at this, as I have 10FTC still on my phone, I knew what would happen if I left them there so I left them simply because I foresaw this as a bit of a challenge :D , FTCVanity is pretty much finished now bar a couple of known bug fixes, so once it’s done I’ll see if I can find a work around for this… Do you know what format the file is in (I have not looked yet)? Is it .dat? If so this would be quite easy to sort…
Ok just had a quick look, it is in fact a .dat file…So tbh I would just forget the app for now and send the coins to your PC wallet before the Fork.
But if you insist on importing them, it is just a matter of getting the .dat to your PC - I emailed mine tbh as it only had 10 FTC in it…Then backup your existing wallet.dat in %APPDATA%/Feathercoin/ and then move both backup and original to a temp location (or simply rename bak1.dat & bak2.dat and leave where is), then copy over the App wallet.dat which is named by the feathercoin-wallet-keys-date-it-was-created.dat (ie: mine was named feathercoin-wallet-keys-2013-05-22.dat), rename to wallet.dat and open the client up…Job done…But like i say just send them via the network NOW before the fork! Much less hassle :)

Not only do we need other programmers for this team, we need someone that can help sort through all the posts and make sense of the different community recommendations. Anyone up to the task?
I’ll get onto it, I have had a look through the whole thread this morning, I’ll re-read one more time, I’ll make a list of ideas then I will start prioritising those ideas, so based on +1 agreements, reply’s etc I will use this as my basis for priority.
I’ll then create a list with a brief resume of possible ways each one could be achieved, then I’ll post and leave for further discussion and/or bushes input… -
Maybe we should setup a feature request and tracking/voting system ?
I did a quick search and a couple solutions came up:
http://thebuggenie.com – “Friendly issue tracking and project management.”
http://codecanyon.net/item/ajax-feature-request-voting/102513 - a very simple Ajax Feature Request & VotingI am sure there are others. We can setup a feature request and management system so community can provide more input on what is needed.
I am a techie and can help with this task if we agree on what solution to use. -
What about…
Make a list of all of the suggestions first and then they can be up/down voted by the community?I don’t think we can make an agreement in a thread tbh also we would need further input from devs as some of the suggestions are quite easy to add and don’t necessary require all that is suggested to be actually be added…eg one that springs to mind is moving /%APPDATA%/Feathercoin just to be able to store your wallet remotely is a bit of an overkill etc, when all it would take is the explorer window to be implemented into the client for user wallet location selection purposes.
I was talking about installing a general feature request/voting solution for community to make suggestions, vote on them, comment, keep track of. I am investigating various options and will report soon.

How about blockchain voting?
Reinventing wheels is really ok. Zero plans to use a test coin for experimental features. I understand the reservations to move new solutions into a production coin, rest assured, no way Bushstar would do that.
Dream away… we’ll deal with the pruning process a little later.
Hey, blockchain voting is a great idea, just maybe not ready for us to use yet. For now I would suggest we use an off the shelf solution to save time, but I certainly welcome any efforts on moving blockchain voting concept forward.

So what is happening with this, @bitcoinerS have you sorted a voting system yet? We really need to get the ball rolling on this, to make anything happen! 8)
I am still investigating different options… There are many ways this can be organized. One of the best solutions I found so far is this one.
http://feedback.codecollab.com/ from https://www.uservoice.com/
We can use this solution or find something similar. I welcome any alternative suggestions on a feature tracking/voting solution.
feedback system from uservoice costs money, but I can approach them to see if they will sponsor feathercoin community development and let us use it for free.Let me know what you all think about this.

Also we can use a free and open source solution http://www.redmine.org/ it is not as pretty looking but very functional.
