Unconfirmed Balance
-
Sorry i was talking about Feathercoins i bought off an individual, rather than ones i mined myself it that make a difference.
-
The coins are being send to your wallet, now the network (miners) have to confirm the transaction and you will get your coins, it can take some time.
-
The same thing applies, your transaction needs to be confirmed by a certain number of other clients to make it confirmed, to avoid it being included in an orphan block or something.
-
Thanks for fast replies
should i wait about 24 hours?
-
Before the weekend, I had a transaction which took nearly 48 hrs to confirm because of the low hashrate, but this will only be a temporary problem.
-
And FYI…
The Feathercoin Client will wait for 6 confirms before it is fully confirmed although in the overview it is moved from unconfirmed to confirmed after 1 confirmation. To see the actual status, you need to click on Transactions. Fully confirmed (6+) transactions have a green tick, partially confirmed transactions (1-5) have a red-shaded clock and unconfirmed transactions (0 confirms) have a question mark beside them.

Thanks for info
-
I had one transaction stuck inside an orphaned block, now that was scary as one minute my client said A OK and it had 2 confirms and then suddenly when I checked again a few hours later it went back to a question mark & zero confirms, I was like WTF? 5000 FTC…Noooooo ::)
I went to bed and all was OK by morning :)
In a round about way this has strengthened my belief in the client & more importantly its developer, due to its ability to handle such rare occurrences without user loss!
Hats off to bush 8) -
My payment now says confirmed but. However only 1 out 6 confirmations. (Red clock)
Does that mean it is still possible for the money to be reversed?
Thanks
Possible - BUT HIGHLY UNLIKELY ;)
Really, it will be OK! 8)
If it happens to get put in orphaned block (rare), then read my post above, the client will handle appropriately and you will get your coins! -
Like UKMark said, it’s possible but unlikely. Keep the faith Moonpig, it will be ok!
-
I have faith not worried.
i was just wondering if it was possible for the seller to claw back the coins.
For example if you sold an item, would you only send it to the customer once the coins had 6 out of 6 confirmations?
Thanks
-
I don’t think the seller can ever claw the coins back, if it has appeared as unconfirmed in your wallet, it has been broadcast to the network.
I would wait untill I have the 6 confirmations unless I knew the other party well enough, same as I would wait for a cheque to clear before sending good if payment was by cheque.
Agreed, I would do the same, like you say a cheque, when the network hash is back at a peak 6 confirms should take no more than 15 mins in reality, at the minute this can be 15+ hours. :)
-
will take a while for it to be confirmed
-
Took about 6 hours for me today
-
I got 3 confirmations in 5 hours today. it’s time for the diff retarget or it will get even slower.

Actually, the hashrate seems to be picking up as people anticipate the fork in 185 blocks or so, and things should start to improve from here on in.
