Could the download section be improved to be “Get a wallet” section? Introduce different options… also mobile, paper, web? I personally like how different options are introduced on bitcoin’s web page.

So many good artwork designs here, Awesome! They stay better, when I’m not trying to comment those with my poor artist visions :D

But some comment about future contents. In update focus that web site contents can serve two important user group:

1. Merchants and other business users. Answer questions what they might have: What is this?, why should I accept?, etc. And site can help them to find tools and instructions they need to use this.
2. Basic home users. Answer their possible questions. What is this?, how can I send this to friend?, how can I buy something?, etc. And site should serve also for them to find different wallets + other necessary tools + guides.

Like wrapper0feather said, maybe too early for big masses, but all publicity is good for adoption (see doge 8)). Currently main focus should maybe be to fighting against windmills and spread awareness among cryptocoin users? Knowledge and adoption among cryptogeeks keeps coin alive until infrastructure is ready for big masses. Outside of community people currently know FTC mostly from what they read at trollbox and good news can’t reach people… So, not so good currently, but it can be chanced :)

There was discussion about crowdfunding giveaways to improve newsletters visibility. Giveaway with last newsletter was great success and it had >1600 views! If you are interested, consider to give small amount of coins to spread FTC awareness. If you have adjusted too much GPU core voltage, core clock or memory clock to reduce heat and electric consumption, it could cause GPU (or GPU driver) crash. I faced situation that after crash GPU keep still running, but ~50% hash from what it should be. Put those values back to safe level and come down carefully again. Also reboot was needed if crash had happened. That solved problem with my miner.

That could have good impact to view amounts. People like giveaways and of course should advertise a little 8)

Also maybe consider headline naming in other forums? Usually weekly newsletter start with some headline sentence. This is nice detail and works well in ftc’s own forum, but in the other forums it might be little hard to notice that this is important newsletter between all the other topics?

1. Organizing fund for charity and other good stuff sounds good and important thing, but how to separate funds to different places from this giveaway idea? Maybe best way to make multiple uses would be if Feathercoin community would collect funds similar style like wdc? Take donations to central place and spend coins for good things: marketing, development, charity, etc.? Hmmm… Or maybe in this newsletter thing something “if we reach ~100 replies, then XXX FTC will be given to charity X”? Still it would be more awesome if we can courage people to give something there straight?

PS. Chris, I did small thing earlier for that Songs of Love and sent there 10 FTC at the same time when I sent some funds for Chekaz… I know it’s not much, but at least something from a small holder :)

2. That lottery was just a one suggestion, but I agree that even myself I didn’t like the gambling aspect of that idea. But for purpose of this kind of giveaway it could work well. Good side is: we can say time period when to post for attend to lottery and we know budget forehand. Might work better than “we give 1 ftc for first 50 people”, because no need to worry that giveaway is out of funds too fast and then we are out of bumps. If this kind of giveaway is good and it could become weekly habit, there could be some different types? I suggest next time could be just normal giveaway “post your address”. I believe 0,5 ftc could be enough to make people to post (and money last longer). At least we should ask people to post “which one was their favorite article?”, so there is small task for reward and it’s not too big task that people don’t bother to attend. If this seems success then can try later some other variations? And if someone has an idea of some other easy and simple task then can use some different variation also of that?

Ok… And how to deal with this forward? Christmas special was last of this year so next one planned 7.1.2014? How much funds we need, is earlier suggested 50 ok? If 50 x 0,5 FTC there will be 100 bumps. ChekaZ, if I send you 30 more, does we have budget full to make this happen? Should we try to add some charity trick there with some amount?

Heh… It seems there’s many different opinions of ACP. I think it’s good thing to mention, because it’s something that is different from LTC. Much better to see that than just a description “LTC copy”. When more development happens (flux, link, etc.), then this kind of list should also have updated info.

Not much discussion about info that should be updated… So people mostly agree with earlier suggestion? If that was good, I’m asking if some community member who has bitcointalk account could post update request there? Just can copy that suggestion in quote or even improve it with some better idea. When posting, they probably ask some confirmation source for changes (acp & difficulty adjust). I like! Small weekly giveaway with newsletter can be really good thing. I would be happy to give some of my coins for this good purpose. Hope we could get some small group of people for weekly funds. Like you said… Feathercoin is doing great here and Chris put a lot of effort to great newsletter, but people outside of community know nothing about this :'(

In this kind of giveaway can also play a little with amount of coins. Giveaway with 0,5 ftc will give double amount of bumps compared to 1,0 ftc with same budget. After testing couple times, there can be found optimal level, which keep weekly news on front page for whole week and it doesn’t cost too much of our precious Feathercoins. Last time ~20 bumps with 20 ftc was enough to more than double views, so not bad start ;D

Idea: there could be different combinations than just a normal giveaway? Another combination could be type of lottery: “Tell what was your favorite topic in this newsletter and post your Feathercoin address. Before the next newsletter there will be lottery for ~3 x 10 FTC among everyone who answered.” ?

I believe this is quite important information source for many people and currently it’s not giving good image of FTC. Many different groups have their own interests to that thread, so there might be some resistance if someone wish to improve (too much) their coin summary. It would be awesome to get rid of “clone” word on this summary, but probably there are too many people demand this certain word to be there.

And back to topic… current summary is like this:

Giveaway replies keep this thread jumping on first page and post get much more visibility than normal news at Bitcointalk forum. Maybe similar trick could be useful also, when releasing some important FTC news?

I little disagree on this comment. We should not shame the fact that cryptocurrencies are having a competition to get adoption. This competition is against fiat and also against each other. In this early game adoption is the way to get more and more adoption and finally way to become mainstream payment solution. I don’t see room and demand in mainstream level for many different coins, but I hope and believe there will be more than just Bitcoin alone, because one solution’s dominance is never good thing.

Current alt-currency environment is really hostile and one big reason is this competition. It’s not easy thing to find a balance how to work in this kind of environment. From real life the material industry would be good sample about how to handle things. Companies have hard competition of customers, but at the same time these same companies have association to promote their common product area. Currently only Bitcoin foundation looks like it has somehow organized and it is fighting alone against fiat industry and most altcoins just seem to focus to fight against each other. I would like to bring back painful memory of UNOCS… Even it was total failure, it was a little of something that could have been good for whole cryptocurrency environment.

That application bug solved now. I tested that removing application data from android settings also work now… So this can be easy alternative solution if someone face this kind of problem in future.

I was investigating how to input correct API link to Nut2Pool, but didn’t get it work yet. I tested application now with sample address on play store and it is working correctly. Sent you more information on PM. First time really mess up with API link and that caused the crash in first place ::)

Really nice looking app. Hope I can get it work on my phone. Tipped you couple FTC for development ;)

I tried to install this, but I faced some bug. Here is some report. First app can be installed and is running correctly. After I tried to set Nut2pool API address the program crash. On the moment of crash program is showing “loading pool data” window. It might be that I somehow mess up with API address, but my technical problem is not incorrect address I set there. The problem is that I didn’t find solution to stabilize program anymore and program keep on crashing. Usually just cleaning application data fixes problem, if mess up something with android application, but not this time.

Already tried these solution:

• Remove application data,
• Empty application memory,
• Force reboot application,
• Clean phone RAM,
• Reboot phone,
• Reinstall application,
• All above listed things together

After all these app still start with “loading pool data” window and crash after that. It seems like API link is saved to phone memory somehow different than most of apps? Or some bug on application data cleaning? Before setting any API link this app was working well. Here is some extra information… Phone model: Samsung GT-I8190N, Android version: 4.1.2.

When I first time hear about FTC there was some description like:

After that a lot of things had changed and in a really short time. Don’t even know how many different alts there is at the moment and all time new one’s appear. So there is hard competition of adoption and that is only way for coin to survive. Without some technical disaster I believe BTC had made it’s place as one of remaining currencies. It has so big lead on adoption and that train is going fast now. All others are still on speculative level, even LTC. Markets will decide how many major cryptocurrencies remain in future.

In current environment Feathercoin shouldn’t anymore set itself as a position being “bronze” after LTC & BTC as it’s marketing strategy. It should openly aim to become the widest adopted and used cryptocurrency. For Feathercoin it should not matter which and how many other coins also success to survive in this competition.
