Yeah, I ran the installer without deleting any files before hand on windows 7. I saved the wallet. dat file to cloud storage awhile ago. Where is the wallet data directory?

I was upgrading my wallet to 0.8.6.2 and when I start it up it has a yellow warning : “Warning: Displayed transactions may not be correct! You may need to upgrade, or other nodes may need to upgrade” The block sync is also stalled on block 43. What is wrong? What should I do?

Shameless plug for a great program

I think that having the words “ponzi” and “feathercoin” in any community related project is detrimental to the overall success of the coin. Not that the idea is bad, just those words will cause people to discount it as legitimate.

Update: I was pitching this idea to a few close friends. And I think that having ‘investment’ part should be artist specific not song specific. The artist would be able to sell off as many %'s of their future plays as they wanted. With each play costing 1mFTC. For instance, if you thought that an artist would get more than 1000 plays, then you would pay 1 FTC for any whole % of their future income as it would generate profit in the long term.

That is a good idea, in my opinion the fee for listening to a song should be much lower than 0.100 FTC, I was thinking anywhere from 1mFTC to 1uFTC, this would allow someone to get a bunch of plays for a relatively low cost, while not shafting the artist as there are many other ways to pay them (donations, buying shares). I would like to give the Musicians the most control over their distribution and payment model. (Maybe we could add a subscription feature where your funds would be automatically sent to your subscribed artists every day/week/month.) The only downside to giving the musicians more control is that it makes the setting up of their profile more time consuming and that may hinder adoption.

Just a quick update on this idea. I have registered the domain name: featherlabel.com and am in the process of creating the website.

One feature that I would like to have on this musicians website is to have a ‘Featured Feathers’ section, where anyone could spend FTC to get their music on the frontpage at either #1,#2,#3. The amount sent for the spot would show up next to it, and if someone else wanted that spot they could ‘outbid’ them by 10% for the spot, Additionally if you were the original owner of the spot you would be reimbursed your bid +5%. (Think Bitgernade, but with a purpose) The ‘Featured Feathers’ would be reset to the most played songs/artists on Saturday at midnight GMT. (So when you bid you are guaranteed either a listing through Saturday or your money back +5%)

The website would follow the open model for feathercoin, where we would like people to come in and claim their own space, as long as you are not uploading copyrighted material, you can post any audio file as your ‘song’.

I was also thinking that people could send FTC to purchase a ‘share’ of a song at the price the musician set, in doing so they would be entitled to a % of each additional share sold. So if you like a song you can invest in it, the funds would go directly to the artist.

What do you all think about this idea? Any suggestions/criticisms are appreciated :)
