RE: PPS pool?
Don’t have time to explain in full right now but if someone “filtered” the block out at cgminer level and directed to a different wallet, it would no longer be a valid block. ;)Also, that’s no different from any other pool… get a share of everyone elses work but keep your own blocks.
All that said and done, have you any hard evidence of it happening? There are some clever guys out there… :-\
Yes, i understand that they cant use this big diff shares for own use, cause there are pool wallet imprinted in block, but
there are no such goal. They getting paid for every thousands of sent shares, but your actualy will never find any blocks from that miners because this shares which solves blocks simply never be sent to the pool. On other than PPS pools - they just steal money from fair miners, but on PPS pool - pool owner pays for all that :( -
RE: PPS pool?
With PPS pool there are some other problem. Some bad gays with big hashrate will easy empty your pool wallet. Dont forget that cgminer are open source, and someone can easy fix it in one minute so, that miner will never send really big diff shares to the pool. In that case you will pay for shares, say >64 diff, but that real shares which resolves blocks will be filtered at cgminer. I understand that the such attacker in this case had no big profit, but we’re talking about “bad guys”. May be they simply want to close pool in that way.
I know few such peoples, that are real scenario, not just theory.
In May i tryed to make PPS pool, but even with no any orphaned blocks, pool wallet in some days went down for -2000-3000 FTC. So pool gives no any profit for me, just looses. -
RE: Feathercoin network up 3 % over 2 days- NETWORK ATTACK?
Seems FTC were dead from now :( It is a pity, hoping that this will be the currency of a minimum replacement for litecoins :(

RE: Block share size variance?
Average number of D1 shares per block is Netdiff*(2^32),
generally its lower because scrypt pools not using Diff1 shares.
And as always, its only averaging with zero variance scenario, so it can be much higer as much less too. -

RE: Another 7970 Hashrate Help Thread
I didnt wrote -w 256 -g 1 but -w 64 -g 2
there are all parameters is important. -

hmmm…I just did a Full Express install of 13.1 then also installed SDK 2.7 on top of that. Should I uninstall those and then just install 13.4 full and thats it?
Yes, better uninstall all with AMD removal utility. (http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/catalyst-uninstall-utility.aspx)
Reboot, did custom install of 13.4, select only driver in components, they included SDK in all latest drivers, you didnt need install it separately.
Then start cgminer with settings i given above, and you’ll see 750 kh on your card :) -

are you on 13.4 catalyst and 2.7SDK? also have you tried adding -v 1? seems like it reduced stales sometimes in testing but might of just been coincidence
Yes, driver 13.4, with SDK included with it.
Not installed all that crap which comes with drivers, just driver itself.
-v doesnt work with SCRYPT minig, you can see its readme:–vectors XX (-v XX)
Vectors are NOT used by the scrypt mining kernel.
SUMMARY: Does nothingso it not affect stales at all

RE: Another 7970 Hashrate Help Thread
Win7x64
Latest AMD drivers
4x7970 Gigabyte OC
This settings
cgminer --no-submit-stale --scrypt -w 64 -g 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 --intensity 13 --gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-fan 100 -o http://your.pool.here:0 -u guest.4 -p x --api-listen --api-network --api-allow W:0/0
Gives extactly 752 mh from each card.
You can see on screenshot. Also for how many time its runnin.
Its WDC so there are so many rejects because their block time, but beleve, on any scrypt coins speed absolutely same

RE: \[Pool\]\[PPLNS 1%\] featherpool.ru
Hi arwen.
Please PM me your name on the pool ill check my logs.
Calculator on the stats page are working only for PPLNS, dont take in into account if you using PPS payout.
Also it using current pool hashrate and approximate block finding time with this rate, so if pool have small speed it can greatly mistaken. I dont undestand why you hashrate is smaller than real, there are very simply formula for rate calculating. It only counting number of shares received from you for last 10 minutes. Say for my workers its calc just right, with say ±15% range because variance of share time.
And for last, as i see, some users for last days sending a lot of invalid shares, like two-thirds of its overal number, its also can be reason of smaller payments, because pool not counting invalid shares. -

They’re going after CNC. That’s their goal right now. They’ll be back.
His still with us.
See http://explorer.feathercoin.com/a/6xtJbibr23
Simply looks like its releasing all its blocks on time, so not orphaning others, but still solving a lot of blocks. -
RE: FTC Diff Change
its not diff ajustment problem, main ftc problem is lack of a sufficient standing miners
