Wallet, hash...
I’m back here with more questions :)
I managed to found one more of my wallets.
And yay, it has 1247 FTC on it :))) can’t be happier. But…
Can’t access coins because I forgot which pwd combination I used.
Gosh, probably for two weeks now I kept making all kinds of pwd variations and still can access my coins. I suspect typo or some symbol involved since I have two languages on my keyboard.
Last transaction 2014 May, it’s been quite a while.
So questions.
I want to attack my wallet hash with hashcat, is it possible? I read that software supports loads of algorithms.
Anyway, I successfully managed to extract hash code from btc wallet, but i’m unsuccessful with ftc wallet, probably because it’s neo-scrypt.
I tried to use pywallet and one other software, can’t remember the name, those were suggested on page of those guys that run recovery service, although they say they support most algorithms, I must be doing something wrong. Since it’s like 300 eur I better try myself first or just burn whole wallet.
How do I see my wallet hash code?

RE: bitcoin and altcoins are failures
It’s to early to say it was an intention to replace fiat. It’s a tool with multiple shapes now.
Tool that is in early beta stage. Look at this fuss about BTC, it opened everyone’s eyes what problems there are to solve. And community is solving them.
It’s very brave to say this early that crypto tried to replace fiat.
Maybe fiat will be replaced with crypto. who know’s in what shape crypto will be after 3-4 years from now. Do you want to pay BTC tx price bigger that your ice cream price? I better choose to pay with FTC and pay few ct for tx fee.
Alt’s a failure? no f… way. Look how BTC compliments LTC for it’s speed.
I see alt’s as engine for future replace of fiat.
And yes for now it’s supply and demand and don’t invest money you can’t afford to loose. -
RE: GPU speed
Thank you for the link.
around 80kh/s 2x, 160kh/s total.
So I’m safe to say power is reduced by 5. -
GPU speed
Since I can’t post in Mining section, asking here.
Long time ago, before FTC adapted neocrypt, I was mining with my two amd 5850 GPUs, achieved around 800-900 khash/s, when I moved out of dorms(free electricity) I stopped.
As I understand when new algorithm was adapted, it got memory intensive and hash rates dropped on GPUs.
Do you guys now by how much it dropped?
I still have these two gpus, but nobody wants to buy them.
Thinking of rebuilding it, but don’t know what gpu performance to expect. Is it even worth burning electricity on these 1GB gpus. -
RE: FTC qt questions
Thank you for answers. Sync continues very well.

RE: FTC qt questions
Forced it to shut down, nothing bad happened, sync continues.
1 Question remains:
Does sync depends on network work? because I can download stuff at 11MB/s easy, but sync is very long. -
FTC qt questions
So I managed to find my old wallet.dat, left qt to sync over night, still like 2 years behind.
Questions:
Does sync depends on network work? because I can download stuff at 11MB/s easy, but sync is very long.
I was about to restart my PC, pressed exit qt, it offered me to save wallet, I did and I got a window “FTC core is shutting down… Don’t shut you pc down until window disappears.” and it’s been 2 hours already. Am I safe to just shut it down or data will get corrupted again? It got corrupted when I turned off qt after like 10 min sync.
And last one. Me is stupid and me had to wait till 100% nyc. right?
Note. I didn’t put my old wallet yet.
