RE: What happens if you sent coins to a wrong/non-existent address ?
I did dig something further on the block chain…It appears my BTC is sent to another address with 500BTC on it, following transactions this amount is split up in some 125BTC transactions and again split up in smaller 31BTC transactions…
very strange…Could it be that either cryptsy or coindup website (these where the only sites i was using at that time) is hacked so that false deposit addresses are displayed ???
Here’s my initial sent to address: 1EECsrVHx9K8kdWuQRp21kkwhRj6hTL5tg
I made the 0.712BTC transaction.
Funny you should say that (well definitely not funny). I was transferring some BTC to, or from, Cryptsy today. I double-checked the address and it wasn’t as expected. I always check first and last 5 characters and have a scan over the entire address side by side before I make any transaction.I thought it was very weird (as I said I can’t remember the exact operation I was doing) but your post has definitely resonated with what happened. I’m ultra-paranoid about cryptos and I always double-check before I click send.
Sorry about your loss. That’s not small change.

My favourite wallet avatar - Animecoin (CPU mining only) - Post yours
I like the CPU only Animecoin wallet but I have no idea where they want to go with the coin itself. My 13yr old daughter is a massive anime fan (probably why I’m mining it). I’ll either get brownie points, or complete indifference as per normal.
Loving the wallet.

Simple, silly, but I love it. What’s yours?

RE: What's Your Coin Dream Team?
FTC - FeatherCoin (nuff said - my first true cryptolove - I’m a Londoner)
NOBL - NobleCoin (I’m a believer! Seems promising and ‘noble’ :D)
GLD - GoldCoin (it’s the name - nothing else! Some say scam, I say so what - they all are - take your pick, back your horse!)
CAT - CatCoin (the community is a f**king nightmare! Terrible launch, bickering, forking - 3 lives down, 6 to go!)and of course, the almighty BTC!
I also hold stakes in the following:
MonaCoin (Nice wallet splash screen - it’s the important things that matter!)
ICoin (I tested solo mining with a wallet when it launched - much profitability - wow!)
Coinye (In case i need cred wid da yootz)
LiveCoin (UK devs, but generated from coingen.io :o - It’s a pure punt - I must be mad, but they seem deadly serious, I wish them luck!)I don’t hold any DogeCoin but I rate it very highly. BTC is what the older alts are traded against, DOGE is the defacto standard for the newer alts, and it’s also the most profitable coin to mine. That’s quite an achievement in 1 month and they show no sign of disappearing. Just had an upward bounce in the last few days.

RE: How many coins do you have?
Not enough to make me feel happy. :(

RE: \[COMPLETED\] Yo Doge Guess How Many DogeCoin I Haz - 1 Guess Per Round
I mined over 2,100,000. I now have 0. I traded them all in for FTC and CAT. Very profitable when they first got onto the exchanges. I was going to hold onto them for the future (I had dreams of my daughters going WOW when it got into public consciousness and I revealed my bounty), but I think there’s more future in FTC and CAT. I might be wrong but that’s where it all went.

RE: Thinking about the future of cryptos

I don’t think crypto’s will work like that.mBTC and uBTC and so on will work just fine, isn’t it?
I really don’t know. I just think anything is possible. -
Thinking about the future of cryptos
At the moment there’s a lot of coins out there. Likely some will survive and some won’t. I thought about another possible scenario.
When you look in your physical wallet you already use multiple currencies every day to buy goods and services (bear with me on this). So in the crypto world it could be possible to have the following scenario:
$10,000 = Coin A
$1,000 = Coin B
$500 = Coin C
$100 = Coin D
$50 = Coin E
$10 = Coin F
$5 = Coin G
$1 = Coin H
$0.5 = Coin I
$0.1 = Coin J
$0.05 = Coin K
$0.01 = Coin LComparing to $ is just an arbitrary symbol to demonstrate the principle of using multiple cryptos on a daily basis. A crypto wallet could hold all of the coins at the same time and manage the tranfer of the appropriate amounts to the recipient. It’s akin to the way a debit card works.
The jewel in the crown would probably be to become the coin that prices are quoted in.
There are too many reasons why it just can’t work (it hurts my head to try and decide which is the worst reason - they’re all as bad as each other) but I thought I’d share it anyway.

It’s just sometimes if I see a new coin pop up that might be different from the rest, I can’t but help see how well I can mine em… Especially considering I’ve got my first rig built. It took a lot of physical and mental effort to get this rig up so I’m just having fun.
Completely agree. I’m loving it.

1. 1000 CAT = 1 BTC.
2. Kittehcoin competes with Dogecoin
3. CAT is meant to be scrypt copy of BTC so 21 million
4. Value depends on security + communityLong term speculation and 2 years to maturity of coin are things of the past. The technology is proven. The issue now is that people want to not have others controlling the possibilities.
Both the bitcoin and litecoin communities became circlejerks for the developers and developers care more about making deals with corporations and angel investors instead of people.
Catcoin is Bitcoin in scrypt. It has the dynamics of Bitcoin which means I can pretty much forget about Bitcoin.
OK, so Catcoin isn’t really a Dogecoin competitor? It was its USP before and during launch.
I’ve been having a poke at catcoin over the last 12 to 18 hours… I’ve only picked up about 3 cat. From pool teamcatcoin.com
Overview CAT/USD: 22.15000000 / Pool Workers: 46
Even though I can mine a lot more ftc, cat seems more profitable right now.
Do we think because it is far more scarce that it fetches a higher price?
By making cat a clone of btc but having it as scrypt, does that that not essentially remove 95% of the competition from all those SHA asic mining rigs?
It could cause people to rethink the whole ASIC tulip mania. Which would be a good thing.
I wouldn’t trust pool valuations. I’d check what they’re selling for on the exchanges and forums. -

Given the fact that litecoin and bitcoin have become such circlejerks, i’m dropping BTC just like i did LTC.FTC, DOGE, CAT, and maybe WDC are looking to be my dream team.
So longer bunker fiends.
We create here.
I have to disagree on catcoin. I think kittehcoin will come out the winner in that race. Catcoin are still trying to recover from a disastrous launch while kittehcoin seems to be much further down the road.
Catcoin is out of the woods. It’s stable now.
My problem with Catcoin is that it’s rewards are not what I expected. A miner with a 2MH/s rig can earn approx 33CAT or approx 50FTC per day. Why would anyone choose less CAT over more FTC (which already has value)? You’d have to believe that CAT will one day be worth more than FTC to make that decision. I’m not sure it will. And I thought Catcoin was kinda meant to compete with Dogecoin. One of the reasons doge is so popular is because of the rewards people are receiving from mining it. Even now with a relatively small rig a miner can get a few thousand a day. I don’t see the logic behind the decision to limit Catcoin to 21 million coins, and I can’t see why anyone would mine CAT instead of FTC at that reward level.

RE: Build has started... but we need help!
Have you connected the CPU to the PSU? You connect PSU to the motherboard (so you’ll get the “00” on the display when you switch on), but you might also have to connect the PSU to CPU specifically (so there will be 2 PSU connections on the motherboard). Is the CPU fan spinning up? I had a problem like this when I was building mine. Hope I’m not teaching grandma to suck eggs here.

RE: \[RUNNING\] - My First Rig - Smos FTW
Nice one! I know it’s a fight to get these rigs working, but I have to confess that I loved the challenge. Took me 2.5 days to build my rig, and it’s been a daily passion since then. Sometimes mining can take over your life for short periods of time (seriously!).
