RE: Wanting to possibly sell my feathercoin here.
I agree all options that make it easier for distribution are great, but as I used to do this months ago (and cleaned up tidily), its very easy to get burned, and after a few small burns with stolen accounts I decided to pack it in. I didnt have and still dont have materials to mine with, so I saw it as a way to gain a greater holding.
good luck

RE: Advanced Checkpointing released
to anyone looking in from the outside, this seems as if coblee/lirecoin is somewhat hostile… and does state to close up shop… seems bush just stated what was in the correspondence. becoming defensive just gives a few of us a laugh to read

RE: Move FTC to factor four diff swing over 7 days
Although I agree the rises and falls are profits if we only plan of thinking of crypto as a commodity. But the reality of wanting mass adoption of public or the use of merchant services relies in the smooth and consistent. Realistically attracting more investors in the process. Its hard to explain to a potential merchant that this transaction should process in a few minutes, or ten, or one, or ten…
The large sway in diff makes miners jump on and off (fair enough)… but its adjust tends to compound the time per block. As diff goes up 41% the time per block can go up 300%, and time to adjust looked like 24hrs is now 3 days…its a snowball effect.
My thoughts are with future stable adoption

\[solved\] Coins back from a partly crashed computer \* Copy wallet from disk
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have corrupted system files in win 7 and am going to have to reinstall or try repairs. Problem is that this computer in no way will go online to sen my coins elsewhere, to exchange etc… What are my key files to manually backup as I cannot even open feathercoin client due to socket errors

RE: What is the most promising alt-coin OTHER than Bitcoin?
voted here, keep it goin. Anything that makes feathercoin noticed encourages people do do their research, most are quite suprised when they end up here.

RE: Pool.feathercoin.com?
I personally think that would be a great idea, it would help prop the community up allowing an easy spot for new miners to be able to start out, while also collecting a fee to be used as you said, contests and such. my only question would be how this would effect some of our relationships with current pool operators and the possibility of coming across as a little centralized, but maybe thats of no concern. Do other coins offer this at all?

RE: With Litecoin and Bitcoin down could Feathercoin Leapfrog?
My personal thought would be yes, although somewhat reserved. The dynamic within crypto is quickly changing, due to to any number of variables, asics for one are changing how bitcoin is brought to market. Its interesting to see that bitcoin has the limelight yet currently not for all the best reasons (current downward trend). Many outside of the mining community, or the general public “joe investor” might be seeing this as a downward investment trend. So the question is whether the public will be looking elsewhere.
My personal thought is that new alts from this time forward are becoming dead in the water, they are still pumping them out like crazy. But after thoroughly examining values and demands, they stagnate quickly. wdc dgc and a few other that possibly had potential are still valued at well below 100k $, currently feathercoins sits at 6th with over 800k $ in value. Not to base it on value alone, but the public and investors alike are fickle.
I see an opportunity with feathercoin to stand alone, a moment to shine. But at the moment I cant speak to the opinion of the new crypto user, market trends, asic users, and the possibility of ltc hash coming our way for stealing their “sure thing”, although we may have very little effect on their 40 million dollar market cap.
anyways thats my two feather pennies

RE: Feathercoin transaction charges?
Just a note, that I voluntarily have mine fee set to .03 and i think thats fairly small. We seem to be discussing c-hairs here. I am not a miner, but would assume these would end up with the users giving out the hash power. Just to simplify the math here:
to the rate of .005 ftc (im assuming this is a flat rate, and not a percentage we a refering) causing people grief:
.005 is equal to 1/200 th of an FTC, even if FTC had a rate of ten dollars per coin that would equal 5 cents,
seems extremely small, i choose to pay extra for faster confirms (bitgrenade playing etc,…)
whereas BTC charges huge amounts to move small pieces, which is partly due to high its high value to USD, but partly greedy considering I dont think that they are short in hash power, or will be in the near future.
I guess what I am trying to say is we are talking peanuts…
