@wrapper could you speak a little more to those features you mentioned, and why some may or may not be implemented? Is it purely technical or is their a socio-political element?

RE: Roadmap for FTC.
Ah yes, my gripe was limited to the pop out messenger, rather than the separate chat room setup, which looks pretty good - I was concerned that the messenger was just 1 - 1 communication but it seems that it can be run like a room for groups.
Regarding opinions, I’m not super interested in pushing mine (yet), as I don’t really have any. I’m more interested in facilitating discussions and capturing the intention of the group. The difficulty I perceive is the difference (and reconciling the difference) between those who really understand the philosophy and the internal workings of the technology and those who understand it in a much more superficial way, eg. the engineer’s view vs the layman’s view.
Not that people with a superficial understanding don’t have enormous value to contribute. Often being on the outside gives one a fresh perspective. Nevertheless, these positions need to be mediated when working on a group project.
If we can capture those understandings and eventually come to some agreement as to the best way of putting them forward in a roadmap, then I think we’ll have a very significant document on our hands. I suspect it would be more valuable than a whitepaper to this group’s veterans, its newcomers, and indeed outsiders.

RE: Remember this?
I would LOVE this!
Unfortunately I am in Australia and I can’t imagine that I could afford to ship such a thing over. Best of luck with it!

RE: Roadmap for FTC.
@wrapper
That’s fair enough. I was wondering that if the parameters were relatively narrow and the expectations within that space were made clear then it might be a productive way to speak rapidly without muddying up the FTC forums, and is the way I use it for other groups. The FTC forum chat doesn’t seem as fit for the purpose to me, but each to their own.I aim to act in good faith and abide by the code of conduct on any forum when discussing FTC as behooves any of this projects’s members.
I have also started a separate thread on the topic to gather ideas. This thread seems to be a good meta discussion about how a roadmap is best developed, rather than what the content of that roadmap is.

FTC development vision
This is a call out for thoughts from members and is divided into 2 sections:
- For the general community - What would you like feathercoin to be able to do? What is your vision for the project? How do you see it being useful?
- For the technical and development community - What is feathercoin currently capable of and what are the technologies or upgrades planned for future implementation?
In your responses, please make note of which section you are speaking to so that I can sort through it quickly and easily.
I am gathering this information to help with the work I am beginning on an FTC roadmap, so, as much as is possible, I want to consolidate a more explicit vision for the project. If the vision is already clear and simply communicated, or if this space encourages lively debate and eventuates in new ideas and more clarity, both are great results. I’m also hoping that both outcomes will help to inspire the project’s development and its community.

RE: Roadmap for FTC.
@mkxjinshan I’ve just created a slack channel for discussing the roadmap, if you or anyone else would like to join then let me know and I’ll send you an invite link.

RE: Roadmap for FTC.
I have worked as an editor, so I’m happy to help with writing copy and/or be a copy editor. I’ll try to schedule some time in to work on writing up a road map. I’m thinking the best way to do it as a team would be to make a slack channel and then link to it and do reports back into these forums, much like the dev stream.
I imagine there are going to be certain understandings that the engineers have that will set the parameters for a roadmap developmentally, but on an open-source project I should think that team roadmapping may also a good way to drive and inspire innovation.
If anyone would like to contribute their ideas, or would like an invite to a slack channel, please don’t hesitate to reply here or send me a message.

RE: MinerX - NeoScrypt Miningtool
What kind of configs do you need exactly, ChekaZ?

RE: Impliment TOR
Just to seek some clarity; according to the FAQ, FTC can run through TOR, but is this the same as the TOR implementation seen on other privacy coins? If FTC had the same capabilities as those coins then it would be a real winner. There’s about half a dozen going that route, including Verge, Monero, etc.

RE: Feathercoin Fork
Is BIP65 CheckLockTimeVerify still embedded in FTC? I’m very interested in trading on Blocknet and just want to check that feathercoin doesn’t have anything stopping it from running on the DEX.

@wrapper
I’m happy to help moderate when I have the time. I operate on GMT+10 (Australian Eastern) -
RE: What would you like to see happening for FTC?
@Makloda I’d prefer a slack room to telegram. IMO it’s much easier to organise channels and teams within that space, so it’s less of a straight feed and a bit more focused. There you can have trading, dev and other channels streaming in parallel, which would leave the forum free for larger ongoing and categorised discussions.
EDIT: I would also be happy to admin a FTC slack if that was desirable for the group. I’d also seek out some co-mods.

@wrapper ‘relentless drizzle’ sounds like a really hardcore balsamic vinaigrette.

RE: Feathercoin Difficulty & Block Time Analysis 26-4-2017
The AMD GPU drought has extended beyond the US in the last 3 weeks. The uptake in Australia has been remarkable. Apparently people have made their ROI in a month over here, but it’s hard to foresee how that level of income can be maintained when a) personal mining, and therefore altcoin difficulty, is increasing so rapidly and b) energy prices here are pretty high!
I had considered increasing the size of my solar array to be able to devote a portion to mining, but the constant power draw makes the ROI for batteries completely unfeasible. I think wind energy would be more appropriate, but there’s no wind where I am, only relentless sun.

New member intro
Hello everyone, I’m new here as a member but have been holding a fair bit of FTC and lurking in the shadows of this forum for quite some time. The blurb on the home page was enough to get me to buy a stash, and the community seemed nice enough to make me keep it :)
A little about me: I’m a generalist, and have a smattering of skills in a lot of areas. I’m a civil celebrant and facilitator, a dance festival/event coordinator, a social entrepreneur and an amateur technophile. My programming skills never progressed beyond being very good at QBASIC when I was 12.
I’m very much into the open source movement and I’m currently working on a sustainable development project on my 500 acre property in outback Australia to try and help rejuvenate regional communities by cross & upskilling … basically I’m building a facility to teach people about open-source hardware, among many other things.
My understanding is that this project is kind of like an open source bitcoin with some improvements over litecoin, and that’s very exciting. I hope I can find some way to contribute, although I think that really all I can foresee at the moment is helping as a moderator.
I look forward to learning and contributing more.
Kind regards,
Baron -
RE: New Miner with an Idea (or kinda Project thing)
Hey @shadow1117 great job!
I’ve got a GTX 1080, is your current iteration working with this, and does the UI support multi-GPUs?
