Update:

It seems the only way to get rid of the “ltc upgrade” network alert is to disable “notify-osd” which seems a bit drastic because I rather like the notifications in Ubuntu.

On the other hand, the only reason I run Unity is because I am too lazy to install gnome, perhaps that should be my project this weekend. :)

Could we search through the source code for the warning and just remove it and re-compile? Not sure what do you guys think?

Just installed the 64Bit version on my Ubuntu laptop. No dependency problems at all.

The blockchain also took very little time to download, especially compared to the Bitcoin and LTC blockchains.

This works really well, good job well executed. Kudos

Note: The Litecoin upgrade message keeps on appearing. Not sure if this is because of Unity or what…

I built my own not so long ago. 2x7950 with the option to add two more. I think the biggest trick is to get one or two PCI risers. If you don’t the heat from one card blows directly into the second card and the whole thing gets kinda hot.
