Just voted in the final 4
Whatever the outcome will be, Fastcoin (FST) can choose from the remaining ones :D

RE: FTC currency sign - Voting Requested
Currently in the poll the Æ’ has the 24 votes, however the Ò’ and the Ò’ in italic combined have 44 votes.
How to judge about the outcome? I mean a straight Ò’ or an Ò’ in italic are very similar. It’s just a matter of a slight tilt.
By the way on the MtGox forum I read the ftc forum has 1500+ members, shouldn’t much more people have a say? -

Sorry, but what would be the best location to mention malfunctioning of FTC services offered by third parties?
By the way, the problem is still there.

I will take that into account the next time. -

What a difference one feather can make!
I’m not sure this will suit any PR purpose for Feathercoin, but if you have 7 and a half minutes time watch until the end:

What's wrong with ftc-wallet.com, now it shows a GoDaddy page
Does anyone know what happened to ftc-wallet.com?
For the first couple of hours it was dead. Now it’s shows a GoDaddy page.
Normally this would be caused by overdue payment, but the expiration date is 28-apr-2014.
I’m hoping to receive my first FTC’s soon and I wouldn’t like to loose them.

To symbolize the fact that feathercoin transactions are very fast perhaps the proposed Ò’ could be written in italic:
Ò’ -
RE: FTC currency sign - Voting Requested
So besides some wonderful custom made fonts so far we got proposals for various Unicode characters
A copy and paste Unicode character readable in most browsers across the world has my preference
I came across suggestions for
Æ’ Ò’ ℱ Æ’ â‚£ Ḟ and Ï•I suppose the feather symbolizes the coin’s characteristics of being smooth.
In this context I believe
ƒand ℱ
are best choices.
To my feeling the first further symbolizes FTC being easy, light and fast.
Since were talking about a new crypto currency it’s a matter of taste to go for retro or art nouveau, so arguably a better choice is
Æ’ or Ò’ -

@Smoothie:
The more people using the logo the better, but I was thinking about even more PR for feathercoin, in a way that the more things are settled the easier it will be to use and to promote.
I’m talking about future businesses and services who might consider using a shorthand notation for FTC.Current status comparison
Name Acronym Logo Currency sign

bitcoin BTC √ ฿ (somewhat disputed)
litecoin LTC √ Šunder consideration
feathercoin FTC √ Undecided -

I’m not sure if there’s a connection with Norse/Germanic Rune script Entimp.
Would be nice, but as far as I googled, florins were first minted in Italy in 1252.
The sign Æ’ is described in Unicode as follows.
U+0192 Æ’ ƒ Latin Small Letter F with hook -

Besides the three letter acronym of feathercoin, FTC, would it be a good idea to reach consensus over the use of a currency sign?
Because of the official bitcoin logo, the Thai baht sign ฿ was more or less automatically adopted by users (for example by the BTC Trading Corp. btct.co).
I live in Thailand for quite some time and I’m sure that most of it’s 67 million inhabitants will object to alternative usage of their currency sign.
Their culture, royalty, country including their currency are a part of their pride and not very open for debate to say the least.
For Litecoin use of the Å is being discussed, see: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=79849.0.
So, what’s the best sign for feathercoin?
ftc-wallet.com uses an italic capital f or F.
Æ’ is the old Dutch guilder sign used until 2002 and would be another candidate.
It is still in use as a notation for Aruban florin and Netherlands Antillean guilder, but this concerns about 331,000 citizens.
Alternatively the old French Franc sign â‚£ could be used.
This is still partly in use to denote Comorian (CF), Congolese (CF), Djiboutian (Fdj/DF), Guinean (FG/Gâ‚£) and Swiss (Sâ‚£) francs.
What do you think looks better for FTC?
F30.75 F0.25 F1000
Æ’30.75 Æ’0.25 Æ’1000
