Interesting.
Cheers Bob!
Interesting.
Cheers Bob!
Champion, as usual, Bob! What you said coincided with what I’d researched. Except for the fact that after I turn the rig off, the screen turns off and it shuts down, but the fans and LEDs on the mobo and the GPU stays on. Odd! So I just turn it off at the wall. I thought this might be a grounding issue.

Im sure you have seen this, hourly reading: http://www.feathercoin.com/calc/ :)

Yup! I use that a bit, Bob. As well as Coinwarz.com
Another quick question for anyone reading (sorry!).
At the moment my rig is just sitting on a piece of cardboard, which is not ideal. I’m thinking of placing some of those rubber pieces that go underneath furniture. However, I’m not sure if my system is grounded. How would I go about doing this? Using one of the PC building wrist straps somehow?

Tbh mate 48ftc is probabley about right for four/five days of mining with your new rig config

Truuuuue. But I’d been mining for less than 24 hours!
Gui Miner wasn’t on long enough to earn that much. At the time of getting that 48 FTC, it’d only been on for no more than 24 hours.
I was happy when it was all confirmed and in my wallet :P
From what I can see, no. :o

Shortly after I received the 48 FTC for the block, my auto payout kicked in and transferred me what I’d made that day (totalling 56.9 FTC).
Quick question for anyone reading this. (I’m a nub, so I didn’t make a new thread to ask a simple question).
I’m earning a few coins per day, nothing too amazing. However, two days ago I checked my account balance on the website and saw that in one of the blocks I earned 48 FTC in one go. Generally, it’s 0.1 or 0.2 FTC per block. How come on this one occasion I got such a large payout?
Well, after some much need help from Bobweiser, I was able to get cgminer properly working on this rig! I’m very happy to have it sorted and Bob was insanely helpful. He really went out of his way to send me clear instructions on getting the script correct, as well as a few other little tricks.
Currently I’m hashing at about 575kh/s. But, I’m sure with more work, I can get it over 600kh/s.
At the moment, I’m using:
cgminer --scrypt -o pool.fcpool.com:3334 -u Pollywaffle.1 -p x --thread-concurrency 8192 -I 13 -g 2 -w 256
Cheers fellas :)
I’d tried cgminer in the past but couldn’t get it to work for the life of me. I’ll give it another go as I’d really like to be hitting over 600kh/s.
Also, I’ll be raising the mobo (somehow) to get better airflow underneath. The cardboard base is temporary :P
Also, I’m currently in the fcpool.com feathercoin pool, is this one ok? Are there any better ones out there?
Hey everyone, I thought I’d introduce myself as I’m new here.
I’ve been mining on and off for a couple of months with my main gaming PC. I was getting some high temps and so I figured I’d piece together a bit of a Frankenstein PC with a spare 7950 I had. As a result, I ended up with what I call The Bismarck.
Nothing amazing…
Intel Celeron G1610
Asrock Z77 Pro-4M
2gig Kingston Ram
40gig 2.5" Hdd (arguably the slowest HDD in existence)
Silverstone Strider-Plus 750W
Sapphire 7950
I started this as a bit of a hobby and I don’t really plan on adding more hardware than there is now.
Currently hashing at 550kh/s using GUI Miner-Scrypt. I haven’t figured out the proper settings though. I’d like to be getting 600kh/s.

Every now and then I’ll get connection errors with GUI Miner when I change between low usage and high usage. It works when it’s at ‘low usage’, but when I change it to ‘high usage’, I get “connection problem” error.
Cheers!
