I`d have to agree with Chap2212 that the best bet seems to be Stéphane Damizet from the 2002/03 season France championship. Although imho I dont see much demand for his signature, or at least as much as if it were the artist themselves. Also The signer themselves defaced the card which would take value away. It reminds me of Gretzky signing cards then bending corners to reduce value. Again imho the card would be worth more unsigned and unaltered being it’s from such an older set and those are harder to come by now (3rd edition/revised) The card itself before that would be worth $20 in NM/M.

You might be able ot try and tack 20-30% on top of that if you are very lucky and someone doesn’t mind the defacement on the card. Being it was only the France championships there would only be a small market as it wasn’t the Prix or the Word championships. Again this is just imho and mean no disrespect.

He wasn’t really a known player and his win losses weren’t all that noticable either. The France Championships seems more of a luck of lack of strong competition as far as I can tell.

As far as verifying the signature your best bet would be getting in touch with him and verifying he signed that particular card. Even then you’d want to get some letter possibly signed off on by a notary or card grading company to authenticate. Otherwise as a collector on dollar values it’s not worth much more than the stock the card itself is on.

As the topic says I would like to buy some FTC. Been away for a while as I’ve been planning a move from Canada to Germany with my wife and finances have not allowed a lot of time to be as in depth in the crypto market as I would like.

I would like to buy 200 USD worth of FTC, best I can tell atm on the dollar would be worth approx 1019.27 FTC, not 100% sure how accurate but i used coinmill.com to do the conversion. I have the option of using my bank/debit visa card or paypal. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be many options for North American users. No issues using an escrow service through one of the trusted members of this site as I understand the issues behind some of these transactions.

If you open up a window (assuming you’re on windows) you can go to %AppData%\Roaming\Feathercoin and there you should see a debug.log. It should be able to give you a little more information as to what is happening.

Chances are that it will happen similarly as it did to BTC. There were a couple coins to take measures against this from happening. Quark was a combination of scrypt/sha256 and currently Prime only uses CPU (i believe)

It’s already dropped due to that. As more and more countries legitimize it, and places accept it as a currency it appreciates in value. Also FTC has been relatively stable throughout all of this. Unless you figure it’s going to crash (BTC) then I’d say there’s no harm. Because if anything it’s appreciated 100USD ish over the last week and a half despite what’s going on in china.

Yea it seems like supplier are just starting to meet demand. Prices are going to fall fairly fast soon I think.

Fair answer and well worded. :) I never intended to imply any issue with trust(i’m a trusting kinda guy despite the cynicism). I think it’s a great service that would really bring more value to the coin as far as exchanging for tangible goods and services. Rep, well that comes in time, as you can see I don’t really have any yet either. :)

I’m sorry please don’t take this as an insult, call it the cynicism in me… Those cards though you can get for under those prices on newegg let alone other sites that do have stock in. What makes these so special? Sorry again, I think it’s great that you’re willing to accept feathercoins for them, as well as I think a valuable service, but I can get singles cheaper from what market data tells me. Please don’t take me as insulting, just curious more-so.

What kind of config are you running? You’d only want to flash if you had a locked bios and would want to overclock or drop the voltage. I would start with the miner configs first.

I would check system BIOS for some kind of economy/green/powersave settings or anything of the sort. It sounds like you’ve checked most of what you would want to. My assumption would be left with BIOS settings.

That’s pretty cool. To me at least, it re-inforces my views on FTC being one of the last standing of all the coins. Cause we all would assume that a majority will not stand the test of time. :)

I’ve seen Max Kaiser quote 700k USD for BTC. I trust what he has to say over a lot of sources. That being said, in all honesty it’s all nothing but speculation, and could never be anything but. The value will be determined by supply as well as what people say it’s worth. As long as more and more stores accept it, and governments legitimize it, it will continue to appreciate in value. All any of these guys are, are analysts. They analyze data and give “their opinion solely”.

That being said, All the coins in a way are tied to BT. If BTC fails chances are the rest of them will as well (If all the way or a good chunk anything else would be pure speculation). That being said. BTC will not be alone as far as ecurrencies go. LTC seems to be the silver of the ‘gold standard’ and (my money is on FTC mostly due to higher adoption and viability as a spendable currency) and another cryptocoin as a bronze that you would likely see being spent more commonly.

If we say it’s worth nothing, then it is. If we say otherwise: well you see where i’m going with this.

Here’s a guide for your card. I would again stress the authors warnings and read everything a couple times before starting so you are on the same page. It should be a shame to see such a nice card bricked from a mistake.

Most of it is done in windows, not sure why he says it’s in linux. If you’re unsure of anything I’ll help as I can.

Basically you’ll want to see your best share > network diff. If you never achieve this you will never get a block. Then once you get a block you need to solve it. It’s a lot of work for 200 coins.

As Wellenreiter says unless luck comes in you could be looking at 800+ hours to find and solve a block. Potentially longer if you’re not.

What you’re seeing in your client are pseudo shares. The won’t be counting towards anything solo mining unless one of them becomes your best share > network diff.

I have a friend who wants to buy some. He’s having issues finding what would seem to be credible means of buying into the currency. If you know of an escrow I’m sure I could interest him in taking at very least some of the coins off your hands.

Worse case if you’re under powered you will put strain on your PSU and risk it’s longevity. Best bet is look at the draw with a tool such as GPUz when you get the new setup. It should be able to give you some insight as to the draw of the 4 cards.
