19.8M, not even close to yours :) What are your mining with 7970s? The hash rate per GPU is really good! With my 7950 the best I sqeeze out of them are 650s

justabitoftime now that you got the pre-mined question out of the way ( Thanks for sharing the vid btw ), are there any initial ideas on the table that you are willing to share or you guys tossed around to get the ball rolling?

Can we have an official bratwurst too?
Sorry this just makes us look like we’re trying to control rather than contribute.
We can view it as just making it easier to get started and keeping all relevant information on the feather coin domain then its is less about control and more about being community/user friendly.
If the approach is more of a ‘pick your pool’ than ‘here is THE pool’ like others have suggested I dont see it as a bad thing.
I think a bratwurst.feathercoin.com is also now on the table :)

Or maybe instead of being one actual pool, it can be a sort of an incorporation of individual pools. Everything about the pool would be the same, as in their servers, fees, any incentives they have, but it would be expressed from a central environment being pool.feathercoin.com. So basically you can pick and choose where to mine but all the output from the pools are on one site.

+1
Agreed that may be the better approach.

thefendall,
Yes we may come off a bit centralize if we did. Definitely something to keep in mind. There may be a few ways of doing this without damaging the relationship we have with some of the other great pools. Some quick thought off the top of my head:
Higher fees: This would naturally lead miners who arn’t as dedicated to the community to seek out the some of the lower 1% and 2% affiliates that we would recommend.
Promote 3rd party pools openly: Openly suggest users use other pools recommended by our community members or pools who we have great relationships with. This can be done on the landing page / pool page directly.
Submitted share caps: If this is possible we would also keep even our most dedicated mining members from outright snubbing other pools.
Limit active workers: Title says it all. Also give priority to new members who are starting out and may use this as their primary pool until they learn the ropes.
I am sure others may have even better suggestions

I like the idea of a pool on this domain.
I HATE HATE HATE every other suggestion you have. Making this some sort of limiting elite pool for only those dedicated to a point, and then they lose money or switch? no effing way.
HAH same I dont like the ideas either. I was just throwing them out to get some better ones :)
I do think promoting the other pools still stands though. It would keep our relationships intact.

Help me out here…
Do we not want more hashes to block potential attacks?
Coinchoose saved us by showing higher profitability with the lower hashrate.
I am confus.
We do want more hashes, however we would like to reward the consistent miners over the “pump-dump” miners who currently cause this difficulty cycle.
Yes this is becoming very frustrating. I have stayed on FTC through the hard times, and once the diff goes down we are getting an influx of miners who drive the diff up and then abandon us. I thought PPLNS was suppose to reward consistent mining, but as stated above the bigger miners come in, take the coins, and leave.
Sorry for the rant, but it is frustrating.
Rant is justified. I am also one of the miners who stick through the hard times. I find it incredibly irritating as well.

What truly sucks is that if I could get 3000+ftc a day I could buy the hardware I need.
But if I could get 3000+ftc a day, I’d already have that hardware and wouldn’t need 3000+ftc a day.
Man… my head hurts…

Its like the chicken and the egg thing :) I agree with you. Does anyone personally know someone with one of these farms and do you have pictures? Whats his electricity bill like?
Yikes. I dont think anyone would look down on you if we didn’t get a reply for a few days. I hope everything is ok with her.
Nice! Great idea. I hate pulling out my calculator every time i got to btc-e :D
